While "logic" and "the internet" aren't entirely non-overlapping when expressed as Venn diagrams... the intersection between the two is very, very small.

FWIW, I don't "do" Facebook -- never saw enough value there to make it worth while for me.

You should read the Sonos forums......all amps sound the same, cables don't matter, no difference in dacs.....blah blah. Anything over low-mid fi is snake oil. Have they experimented with anything other...nope, but.....they read about it on the internet. LOL

Seems to be a lot of avs forum members. I pissed one guy off telling he had a closed mind and was doing a disservice to the newer to audio people with his constant cable bashing. When asked what cables he used, crickets. Best to just unsubscribe and move on. PA forum is best out there to learn from.

I signed up for them a few weeks ago. For a while it was fun and interesting, but then the cable debate issue came up. I should have known better since it was an AVS sponsored group. The head guy and a couple of his assistants bashed me for suggesting that with a super high end system that there was no way I could have experienced any sonic difference between speaker cables. Funny thing, at the time of my experience I wasn't even comparing cables, all I wanted to hear was one of the all-time great speakers the Sonus Faber Aida's.

They also bashed polkie Raife Smith's measurements post regarding replacement wire for his SDA's.

The most amusing comment was this one about "painted speaker terminals":

    Painted%20Tweeter%20Terminals_zpsbuyafdkr.jpg

Mr. Mosher was referencing this picture from my thread on rewiring my 1.2TLs with Cardas wire (cardas-internal-wire-replacement-for-the-sda-srs-1-2tl/p1):

    RD0198-QkDisc-s.jpg

The "paint" mentioned by Mr. Mosher is actually a red conductive coating used to mark one side of the positive tweeter terminal. I'm not sure why anyone would imagine that a speaker manufacture would "paint" a tweeter's terminals and interfere with the conductivity of the connection.

As for me not knowing how to use an oscilloscope, it would have been helpful if Mr. Mosher, and others, had specifically explained the measurement and procedural errors they think I made.

Well, if we wanted to have some fun, I suppose we could flock to this site and start a good cable "debate," just to enjoy the spectacle of it all!

Actually, I go with the poet Thomas Gray:

"Where ignorance is bliss, 'tis folly to be wise."
Family Room, Innuos Statement streamer (Roon Core) with Morrow Audio USB cable to McIntosh MC 2700 pre with DC2 Digital Audio Module; AQ Sky XLRs to CAT 600.2 dualmono amp, Morrow Elite Speaker Cables to NOLA Baby Grand Reference Gold 3 speakers. Power source for all components: Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One with dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel.

Exercise Room, Innuos Streamer via Cat 6 cable connection to PS Audio PerfectWave MkII DAC w/Bridge II, AQ King Cobra RCAs to Perreaux PMF3150 amp (fully restored and upgraded by Jeffrey Jackson, Precision Audio Labs), Supra Rondo 4x2.5 Speaker Cables to SDA 1Cs (Vr3 Mods Xovers and other mods.), Dreadnaught with Supra Rondo 4x2.5 interconnect cables by Vr3 Mods. Power for each component from dedicated 20 amp circuit to main panel, except Innuos Statement powered from Silver Circle Audio Pure Power One.
