Plural

I want to thank the folks at Vanilla for adding "plural" to threads with more than one new response. I mean otherwise, I would have never been able to figure out that any number greater than one means there are.....well, more than one.

For your efforts I will send each of you a big, shiny gold star you can wear proudly. Be sure to show it off to your mommy and daddy when you go home tonight.

The addition of the word "plural" really makes the yellow "4 new" really stand out. Don't know how I made it this long without it.

To be fair now it should be "1 new singular" not just "1 new".

I do appreciate my ancient member badge though.

Just to make sure, they should add the BLINK tag. Then maybe add some animated gifs, a few more bold colors, and lots of "under construction" icons. In no time this place will be just like the glory days of Geocities.

To go from the sublime to the ridiculous, the "plural" is totally absurd. It makes no sense. If there is some inscrutable need to let us know that any number >1 means "more than one new post," why not just add the word "posts" after "new" -- e.g., "10 new posts?"

Maybe someday Stay Signed In will mean you do not periodically get signed out.

Somebody at Polk really needs to lose their job because of this 'upgrade'.

I believe the mother ship is responsible for this, not Polk. I seriously doubt MP is happy with this mess.

Maybe this is one of those psychological tests that 'they' do on the internet to see just how long people who were active caring members of a forum will stay if the layout is changed to a confusing mind numbing jumble.

I'm pretty sure he's still spending some of the money he made from them... LOL

Seriously, I think he bowed out several years ago, but his name still carries a lot of weight around here. Heck, I am sure that during the time when PolkFest '08 at HQ was going on he knew what direction the company would be going in, yet he still participated in the event, and spoke with a lot of enthusiasm about products he no longer had any control over. Stand-up guy all the way.

So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?
