After sitting back a few days and looking at this objectively, can't say I'm thrilled with this new forum, but lets give Bruno and Ken a chance to tighten up the loose lug nuts. Ken has always been there for us, he listens and brings our concerns to the right people. Doesn't mean they will all get fixed, but that brings me to the main problem here....communication.
I really expected Polk to communicate to it's members the new forum addy or link it to the old. I'll bet more than half still don't know it's up. I know Ken can't take on every single problem, he's one dude guys, give him a break. It would be nice if all our concerns were at least acknowledged or communicated in a way that we at least know someone is looking into them.
Maybe have Bruno sign up so he can tell us whats possible and whats not. Understand if he's scared though, rough crowd at times. I realize too it's not up to us or Bruno to change the forum without Polk's blessings, but the communication factor has to improve.HT SYSTEM-

The "Not liking the new forum layout" thread no longer shows up even when new posts are made to it. I don't know if that is intentional or if it is a glitch in the way "Recent Discussions" work. There were a few of us posting in that thread two days ago, yet it was showing up on page 3 of Recent Discussions after posting.

No it's not suppression -- what appears where on the "recent discussions" page(s) seems to be random. I mentioned this elsewhere.
I have no specific praise for this forum format (forumat) but it works, it's reasonably intuitive, and I am glad that the tattooed, rather arch looking woman oreviously gracing the left (sinister, heh!) side of the page has gone the way of the Cobra Cable...

I only started this thread to try to get some perspective. I honestly don't prefer this thread to the old one. So far there are some positives and some negatives.
But as someone said earlier...its the people that make the forum. Hopefully, they will fix the link and we'll get everyone in the right place. We have already had at least one new member posting about the SDA's his dad handed down, but if all the threads are about how this place sucks...people like that won't hang around long.

This has nothing to do with bright and shiny. There are a couple other threads for you to post the negative aspect of this change. This particular thread is for the few positive items. I'm fairly certain everyone reading this thread has already gone through and added to the other threads and have seen your comments there. My comment was only directed at the negativity posted on a thread with positive intent.
Spades are spades...but please don't assume that I'm blinded by the changes or that I like all of the changes. I do not. However, I also believe that we don't need a forum full of negative reaction and that some here do recognize a few benefits even if they might not outweigh the drawbacks.

I never thought about the old pictures being gone, I have to agree with Jesse on this one, that will ruin some very informative threads that are very helpful.
Those threads have been a lot if work and have taken many years to build from very helpful members..
IMO this will be the worst part of the upgrade as well as members not being able to find or log in to the new forum..
I personally could care less about the ignore list or sales ratings, but I would like to see the showcase area back up and running..
It's not that hard to ignore someone, and I have a good idea on who I can trust trust in the FS threads.
