This may have been available on the old forum and I just didn't know it, but the "My Discussions" tab just provided a few giggles. Actually laughing at my ignorance from several years ago. I'm still no audiophile, but man was I ignorant:D

I just noticed that the font changes of the last poster from bold to regular if you have looked at a post, and there has been no new activity. Of course, it is still red, which sucks big-time.

I'm getting used to the new site, and I appreciate many of the advantages others have cited. I'm not sure I'll ever make my peace with the red-colored font.
It is likely to take a while for me to learn the ins and outs of even the functionality I use, and I doubt I'll ever become a maven of the site.

I'm getting more used to it as well and as they keep working out the bugs it seems to be getting better. The badges thing seems kind of silly though. I was thinking about it, since the sales rating thing still isn't addressed I wonder if they can make it so badges could be awarded to buyers and sellers for positive transactions... Just a thought

I like having avatars, and the larger picture size. However, neither of those two offset the sheer ugliness of this upgrade. There was absolutely no reason why the two improvements I mentioned could not have been added to the previous site. After all, other audio forums are based on the same software and they allow avatars and bigger picture file size, and they are not hideously ugly either.
This upgrade is a perfect example of the "If it isn't broke then don't fix it." maxim.
I find as I return to this site each time it gets more difficult to accept the sheer ugliness of it. I believe fugly is the appropriate word. This site will repel more people than it attracts.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable

The 'if it isn't broke don't fix it' comments are absurd and ridiculous. Clearly you people don't remember how much of a cluster the old forum was (SPAM was horrible, pictures were a pain to deal with, no mobile version, no true widescreen except for the standard ugly blue base version, no avatars, PM limitations, etc et etc)
We all bitched and whined about those things endlessly, and now we see the new forum and suddenly develop amnesia about the forum we were using a week ago. They've been listening and making changes to this new forum, and I'm betting that when it's all said and done we're going to have a much better forum that the old software. -

I find it somewhat amusing that some of you are so distracted by a few shiny objects that you can't see what's behind the shine is rotten to the core.
What spam there was, was dealt with quickly.
I never had a problem with posting pics. You do realize that a whole lot of the pics on the "old" forum are gone, lost forever and there was a lot of good stuff that will most likely never make it to this version. Yeah, just great.
There was a moblie version.
At least we had a widescreen, HELLO!
At least the blue version was easy to read, to follow and didn't burn your eyes.
No avatars, PM limitations....big deal. We have members that still haven't found the new site and when they do, they can't even log in. Now, I don't know about you, but that right there is a HUGE EFFING deal in my book.
All Polk had to do was upgrade to the latest version of vBulletin, roll the whole thing over and we would not be where we are right now, dealing with a true total cluster****.

The "Not liking the new forum layout" thread no longer shows up even when new posts are made to it. I don't know if that is intentional or if it is a glitch in the way "Recent Discussions" work. There were a few of us posting in that thread two days ago, yet it was showing up on page 3 of Recent Discussions after posting.
edit: oops, there actually is a "Just another on a very long list of what's wrong with this format." thread. I thought you were referring to the "Not liking the new forum layout" thread.
