My only complaint about the Oppo 105 is the apparent lack of functions when a remote is removed from the equation. We couldn't even figure out how to start a blu-ray when the remote was taken away.
A remote or an app is needed. Once you get the 105 on your network everything can be controlled via a smartphone or tablet app. The remote we were using on mine this weekend was the first time that remote has been used since I initially set up the device. CD and SACD playback also work fine without the remote, it's only on DVD and BD discs with a menu where the remote is needed.

Hey Paul, is Oppo a great company or what? They sure know how to package a product and make a grand presentation!

Running balanced from the 105 to a B&K Reference 200.2. Diana Krall SACD.

Wow, she sounds good. First five minutes are just outstanding.

I hope I get this feeling every time.

TONY B The JOLIDA is a analog pre-amp, but TOOLFAN66 is so upset to have spend $700 for nothing!

Ummm, I'm not upset about anything, and there is nothing in my rig that I regret buying. I'm very happy with my rig, and the Jolida is not worthless in the chain, it needs to be there going to my Preamp, as the Preamp does not have a Phono pre within it..

I have no desire to use the OPPO as a pre, I can use my DAC 2 as a pre as well, I have no desire to use it as such either. My system is how I want it, and I am running it as such..

You have no clue what so ever...

I think the ones you saw on ebay are not region specific.

^^^Danny (assimilated) turned me on to Oppo this last weekend at LSAF, and I had absolutely no complaints. He runs Maggies which will pick apart the chain of sound.

I have grown a custom to simple systems i.e. integrated gear. I have a Modwright KWI-200 w/DAC option that is great (IMHO), but was very satisfied with his parasound/Oppo combo. Would love to do a shoot out one day to compare.

If I was in the market I wouldn't hesitate picking one up.

FYI-Danny is one of the pickiest SOB's when it comes to music, and have had several listening sessions with him over the last few years, so I consider his word as golden.

This forum really hurts the wallet sometimes. Just ordered the 105 Darbee. My goal is to get rid of the Squeezebox Touch & external DAC it's connected too. I will eventually get rid of the mono blocks too and get a nice integrated. Maybe something from Rogue.
