Siouxsie & The Banshee's- Hyaena
Broadening the eclectically experimental landscape of 1982's Kiss in the Dream House with the occasional string arrangement and a spacious sound mix, Siouxsie and the Banshees' Geffen debut nicely bridges the gap between the band's handful of more-punk-than-pop early releases and their run of new wave, radio-friendly hits from the late '80s and early '90s. And though echoes of classic albums like Kaleidoscope and JuJu are heard in dark and menacing tracks such as "Bring Me the Head of the Preacher Man" and "Blow Your House Down," the emphasis here is on layered arrangements and pop tunes disguised as art-house production numbers ("Dazzle"); tasteful horn and keyboard parts expand the group's guitar-dominated sound and provide Siouxsie with an airy and dreamlike backdrop in which to fully display her considerable vocal talents. Siouxsie further refines things by also including a generous share of fleet and gothic-tinged pop numbers like "Belladonna," "Running Town," and the band's hit cover of "Dear Prudence." Anchored by the signature sound of Steven Severin's guitar-like bass and Budgie's exotically adept percussion work, Hyaena qualifies as one of Siouxsie and the Banshees' finest moments.
Everyone needs a Siouxsie cd in their collection.
H9"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Mobile Fidelity SACD - Marshall Crenshaw
Nice karma gift from Jesse!
I'd liken this to a 'happy' Joe Jackson album - where Joe was an angst/angry artist, Marshall is happier

This is one S.F. 70's band I can still enjoy- especially with Spring rolling in. You youngsters who never heard of them owe it to yourselves to give 'em a listen.

Agreed and agreed. I feel that they are criminally underrated.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore -
The sound of my P4 rig up and running again.

Had the day off today - decided to pop in some blu-ray concerts and relax with a cold one...or two...

Love the set with just the trio: guitar, bass, & drums - the cover of Hendrix's "Wait til Tomorow" is KICKIN'!

At this very moment?
Tune wise, nothing, nada. Sometimes it is just good to have the rig turned off and listen to other sounds, like the rain hitting the roof at this very moment. -
Those damned cockaroaches in my sock drawer are singing again. Sounds like an old Barry Manilow tune.....my ears are starting to hurt and the roaches don't speak English so my furious screams to stop have gone unheeded.......stay tuned

I agree to that. Veeeerrrry sooooothhhhing indeed.
But I just bought a womans' deceaced brothers' CD collection of about 60+
...classic rock like Led, Eagles, Aerosmith, Leonard Skynard Elton John, Billy Joel and a whole lot more.I have yet to look at them all. It was four plastic bags with alot in each one.I'll post here later which ones I play.;)Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
Well there were 101 CDs  all together and he really loved the Kinks, Rolling stones and the Byrds. About 20 Kinks, 12 Rolling Stones, and 10 Byrds I think.
There was even a Dire Straights, Brothers in arms disc. I didn't have that one , only their greatest hits or something. This is a DDD disc so I'm about to be blown away over what I thought I had.
I think I paid 35.00 for them.It was early in the morn. and I bought alot more later today. It could've been 25.00 but I think not.. There was one in there that still had 10.00 on the case. Quite a collection of some I didn't have so I'm happy.
I still want SACD's though...The search continues.:DMost people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....
