Right now, a local group called Symphonic Haze. Sadly, they produced one album then broke up. I'm friends with two brothers from the band and they are still producing music, but nothing recorded yet.

Time to down another Third Eye Pale Ale!

Eagles - Long Road Out Of Eden

Deluxe Edition 2 disc CD - Universal Distribution

    51IuBc%2B5WdL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

I happen to be a huge Eagles fan and have followed them since I purchased their first album in 1972. I went out and bought this album on the first day it was released...so you sould be able to guess that I like this album. ;)

However, regardless of my opinion of the music itself...the SQ of this recording is stellar. In fact between this album and "Hell Freezes Over" the Eagles have set the standard for the way redbook CDs should be recorded IMO.

BTW the songs with Joe Walsh as vocal lead are awesome!

Good stuff there Bro. My experience with vinyl transfers to CD, and I have quite a few mainly from Keiko, is that they sound soooooo open and airy with that vinyl warmth. I would like to get into doing the transfers but every time I play a record it convinces me that I'd be wasting my time because the vinyl sounds so good.

Jeff Beck - Performing This Week Live @ Ronnie Scotts.

    51oO2Mf0pPL._SL500_AA240_.jpg

As simply jaw dropping set. What more can be said. Jeff Beck is a master and add to that Vinny Coulatta on drums and Tal Wilkenfeld (a little fireplug) on bass.

I have the DVD as well and lot's of respected musicians in the audience as well as Eric Clapton coming up on stage to play a set. Jimmy Page was in the audience but due to his broken finger a legendary reunion was not possible. It would have been awesome to have all 3 players on stage.

Get the DVD or CD or both, you won't regret it.

    Glenn Frey - Soul Searchin'

    41FF4K3CNRL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

Some nice sax and horn backing on this album...a very mellow album for the most part. I've always felt Frey's solo work took a backseat to Don Henley, even though I think Glenn is every bit as good as Don. Don't get me wrong...I like Henley's work a lott...just that I like Frey and he never seems to get much credit.

    Billy Joel - Piano Man

    331553a09da029db9ed75110.L._AA240_.jpg

If you don't listen to an artist or album for a period of time...it is easy to forget just how good they are. Billy Joel is a great example. Over time he just sort of fades...then you listen to one of his albums and realize...damn...this guy WAS good. "Piano Man" and "Captian Jack" alone are worth picking this album up if you never heard it. I bet you can pick one up for next to nothing in a used CD store. For that matter, pick up any of his albums up through the mid 80s for an entertaining listen.

The fact that he had enough sense to marry Christie Brinkley...that's impressive by itself...but then he blew it and let her get away.

    Still a babe at 55...
