John Lennon was shot on this date. I was just getting ready to leave with a girlfriend to drive to Mexico. We were in a bar and I was playing foosball. Somebody said "John Lennon just got shot!" I thought, yeah Paul's dead too. Then I looked up at the TV over the foosball table and they were talking about it on Monday Night Football. I was completely shocked. If I remember correctly, this album had come out not too long before that and I really liked it, I thought it was a real comeback album. Hard to overstate the influence John Lennon had on modern music. A true genius.
