I'll tell ya' what - the guitar solo at the end of "Watermelon In Easter Hay" amazes every time I hear it. The phrasing, the timing.....d a m n!

^^^ Yeah, there's a bunch of solos I feel that way about. I remember the first time I heard the solo on "Lucille" on that Zapped album when I was a kid. Pink Napkins is another I always liked. Lots of them actually. What a genius.

FZ died today in 1993. Hard to believe. Will be playing some favorites tonight, starting with Ruben & The Jets.
Surely do miss him. Had the pleasure of seeing him live quite a few times. Great guitar work. Broke a string playing Montana and never missed a beat. His vinyl re-issues are not to be missed. Now playing my latest. Zoot Allures. -
I played Zoot Allures daily for a long time when it came out. I never saw Frank live. Still regret passing up a particular show in 85 that partially ended up on one of the You Can’t Do That On Stage albums. Seen his kid do his stuff a few times tho. A real chip off the old block but there’ll never be another FZ
