BlueMDPicker: One time I was in New Orleans for a conference and I found out Gatemouth was playing at the House of Blues. I walked down there real early to see about a ticket and a Cadillac convertible pulled up to the front of the place. It was Gatemouth driving to the venue for soundcheck or something I suppose. He had a guitar case in the back seat. He got out and I went up to him and shook his hand and told him I was looking forward to the show that evening. He smiled widely and grabbed his guitar case from the back seat and went inside. I think he was living up north in Louisiana and simply drove down to the show.

@dromunds - Great story and glad you got to meet him! I only saw him live once and was blown away with his rhythm, timing and original licks. He and Albert Collins would have been a great pair to make a recording together. -
