Your package was scaned into the system then shipped to the UPS hub in WA - right? Each step of the way, from one hub to another, then right to the driver at your front door the package is scanned and tracked. When the package was sent to the correct hub in WA, it was upside down with the old bar code facing up. When they were sorting to load the local delivery trucks and the old bar code was scanned a red flag came up and the package was thrown into the "Can't deliver pile" and thats why it was being held/lost. When the stupid person who scanned TX bar code (at the WA hub)and got the message "Delivered", or "Invalid Number", he should of flipped it over. They should at least have noticed and figured out the correct address if you had it marked as clearly as you said. Someone was lazy and just figured it had a TX bar code, so just ship it to the TX hub and let them figure out (It really should have gone back to you). When TX received it, somebody MUST have noticed it had to bar codes on it, and the TX package number is no good. I can't belive that even the local driver did not notice the WA address and just delivered it to Russ. Sounds like they just wanted to get rid of the package. If they delivered the package all the way to WA, and they could not figure the it out, then the mistake should be on them. Tell them to send Russ a prepaid UPS call sticker to ship it back to WA, the place you paid them to ship it to.
exactly what i was thinking...someone was lazy and wanted to get rid of the package...
UPS is more expensive than FedEx
I used to work at a mail center, and dont tell anyone this, but we hiked the price up depending on the weight, type of delivery(next day, 2 day) and whether it went UPS or FedEx
for under 15lbs, i believe the UPS mark up was 115% compared to the FedEx 130%, but UPS was still more expensive 99% of the time
FedEx also is starting to deliver on Saturdays as well
UPS is supposed to have a contract with the post office where UPS delivers some of the USPS packages...not sure how that works...
I asked my friend about it today and she said shed ask the UPS guy when he comes in, so ill tell you what he says about it tomorrow

Right now, it's not exactly in my hands to decide. It will be up to Russ, either way. It dont matter to me as long as the package reaches its destination.

well she talked to the UPS and FedEx guy, both said that if they scanned it would not show up as delivered, scanning the code is strictly for the consumer to see where there package is at

Nah, Russ shipped it today and was very helpful through out. Phoneisbusy was very understanding and has been patient. I thank them both! A money order will be sent out to russ later this week to cover the shipping! All is well! :D
