Jeeze, I dunno Sid, maybe just be able to laugh it off and chalk it up to experience?

We've ALL done dumb **** and been able to laugh at ourselves along with others. The fact that you can't seem to do that, I find amusing.

Who said I cancelled the SE Polk gathering? You may come if you wish, I have no problem with that or you at all. I'm just having a chuckle over the situation, you may choose to laugh along or pout, I could care less which.

Troy, Im laughing about the situation. I just dont quite find it as funny as you do. Ask David, we laughed about it on the phone. Its a funny situation, but you take it just a taaaaaaad to far. Laughing is good, making me just look like a fool in the process is not good. I know where I messed up and I wont let it happen again.

    - Sid

I plan to go to the gathering. I hope to have a good time.

Being able to laugh at yourself when you do dumb **** is something that will serve you well in life.

Oh, and it's ok if you call me an ****, I got thick skin.

    Sid,

And you don't have a sense of humor ...

    All,

Any way ... My wife has the record for stuff like this ... at least any where near our neighborhood ...

It's last years Fed/State Income Tax time ... all the forms done by the accountant and ready to go ... checks written to cover the additional taxes owed to both ... $20k+ to fed ... $2k+ to the state.

Wife inadvertantly swaps the checks sending the fed check with the state forms to the state and vice versa ... and of course since there is to be no refund I thought this was the end of it because at the time I didn't know what happened.

Needless to say ... a few months later a little love note arrives from the IRS ... you owe us $18k + ... GULP ... This took months to resolve and of course the interesting part is that some how the fed was able to cash the states check and the state was able to cash the feds check and none of the banks any where in the process caught this.

    Sid,

Right ... Had I been your age ( no offense meant ), I probably would have gone postal ... fortunately for all, INCLUDING ME, I've had more than few extra years to let the jets cool down. All's well that ends well, you just can't take this stuff too seriously.

    I didn't think about that.....ok, I'm a dumbass!

SE Polkfest is still on (c'mon, if I were going to cancel it, I'd do it in a more conspicuous manner though)

    More details to follow.

Now let me get this straight....

Sid sells Receiver to Dave (phoneisbusy)....

    Ships to Dave in WA....

    Gets to UPS facility there....

Has a shipping label on the bottom with Russ' address...

    Goes to TX....

    And is delivered to Russ...

All the time Sid is bashing UPS on the forum about "their" F***-up...

SID - THIS IS GOING TO BE A TOUGH ONE TO GET OVER - THIS IS THE SORT OF THING LEGENDS (OR NICKNAMES) ARE MADE OF.

    LMAO.......yeah you're right man......

Im already looking more at the future. As soon as I get the total from Russ for what I need to send, it will be sent. The M&K should be moving on its way in the next month or two. I am moving out the Yamaha cd player friday, and the Denon is coming thursday.

The receivers, I guess I'll have to deal with it. I cant help to laugh at the whole ordeal though. Just never would have expected the thing was in texas...lmao

    My new name can be......

The sad thing is I feel bad for Dave and Russ.

Dave is still stuck waiting for a receiver that he laid out cash for and Russ is inconvenienced and he has nothing to do with it.

Good thing Russ is a stand up dude. Ida been tempted to look at it as free stuff!

    Troy,
You're to funny. Dave was very understanding. Thankfully I am a stand up guy. I could be a jerk and just let it stay there and never pay for the shipping. I mean dang.

You're right though, good thing it went to Russ if anywhere. I wonder how old that sticker was on the bottum though. lmao........

Im sorrry for all the inconviences I have placed upon Russ......if it were up to me. The package that went from NC to WA and then turned to TX would be delivered in WA.

In days of old, UPS would've required a signature for something worth $0.50. It's amazing what they'll drop on the doorstep in this area of the planet and run away from now regardless of whether the instructions say signature required or not.

    Yeah I know right......

The shipper of that sticker is from New Jersey, and the receiver is in Texas. The shipper of the ACTUAL item is from NC, and shipped to WA.

Sid - you should check with UPS - They accepted the package with your delivery instructions (and hopefully a receipt of payment with that information is in your possesion) and DID NOT DELIVER IT ACCORDINGLY. While you may bear some fault for leaving an old label on the box they should have inspected the box (as is their resonsibilty when accepting for delivery) and removed any old stickers. They screwed up and should bear the expense of delivering the package to the location you PAID for.

BS - You need to be down at the UPS office as soon as you can get there...receipt in hand...demanding that they go pick up the improperly delivered package and ship it to it's proper destination.

I contacted UPS.......they said they had no part in it and was clearly my fault if failed to remove an old sticker.

It also is their fault, that they missed this HUGE WHITE BOX with a HUGE ADDRESS and 2 stickers on the opposite side. Didnt the effin moron find it weird that he scanned a sticker with no address around it?

Again that's total BS! Forget the phone...get down there with your copy of your receipt and raise hell. YOU DID NOT GET THE SERVICE YOU PAID FOR - PURE AND SIMPLE. At the very least you should get your money back.

I agree with Shack Sid, when they scanned the old label, it should've come up as already delivered. If I remember, tomorrow I can ask someone that works at a mail center who ships UPS and she can ask her UPS guy about it.

Thank ya. I'll have to talk with Russ about it considering he has the package in hand. Maybe he can explain it to the CS at UPS when he goes to ship it. If it dosnt work out that way. I have no problems paying for the shipping cost.

just ask Russ to rip off the bottom sticker and go to UPS and say "this was delivered to me and i have no idea why when this is the address *points to phoneisbusy's address on top*"
    maybe thatll work...

well im sure someone at UPS had to have seen both
and they do have a date on the labels(at least when i printed them at work they did)
they couldve very easily marked out the one with the earlier date
if ups screwed me im not afraid to screw them...you should have heard about my experience with www.thezeb.com...
but if you can get free shipping out of it...then great:D

    Sid,
I'm have a FedEx ground shipping account, which is the same as UPS. Each package has it's own unique package/tracking number (bar code). Your package was scaned into the system then shipped to the UPS hub in WA - right? Each step of the way, from one hub to another, then right to the driver at your front door the package is scanned and tracked. When the package was sent to the correct hub in WA, it was upside down with the old bar code facing up. When they were sorting to load the local delivery trucks and the old bar code was scanned a red flag came up and the package was thrown into the "Can't deliver pile" and thats why it was being held/lost. When the stupid person who scanned TX bar code (at the WA hub)and got the message "Delivered", or "Invalid Number", he should of flipped it over. They should at least have noticed and figured out the correct address if you had it marked as clearly as you said. Someone was lazy and just figured it had a TX bar code, so just ship it to the TX hub and let them figure out (It really should have gone back to you). When TX received it, somebody MUST have noticed it had to bar codes on it, and the TX package number is no good. I can't belive that even the local driver did not notice the WA address and just delivered it to Russ. Sounds like they just wanted to get rid of the package. If they delivered the package all the way to WA, and they could not figure the it out, then the mistake should be on them. Tell them to send Russ a prepaid UPS call sticker to ship it back to WA, the place you paid them to ship it to.
