    Ouch! Now that is cold!

They (she?) are (is) out for delivery to the loading dock!! And, of course, it's snowing and 22 degrees outside - 58 and clear yesterday.

Thanks for the bottle of Mad Dog, my favorite! Will consume and enjoy...whatever the cargo may be! ;-)

Hey everybody, the 1Cs made the trip very much intact! Sorry I didn't get on here earlier and make a post. I had a pal helping me pick them up, load them into the house, unpack them and get them in place. He even stayed way past when the warden said he needed to be home, but I had to use him for all the time I had him, knowing that no 100-lb speakers were going to be moved once he left.

Again, Larry, that was the best packing job I've ever seen. Thanks so much for taking the time to do that so well. The packed pallet looked the same on this end as it did in your photo - no dents or tears in any of the packing materials and even the pyramid on top of the pack was still nicely in place. The only damage that I could detect was that one of the speaker grille pegs was sheared off at the "neck" and one of the IC cable banana plugs had come unattached. Looks like the banana plug is an easy fix - just tightening the stripped cable end back in behind the two allen screws of the plug. I'm hoping I can find a replacement grille peg somewhere without too much difficulty.

The speakers look fantastic and sound even better! The "new" oak caps are just beautiful and remain to be without a flaw. All drivers, tweeters and PRs look pristine. The PR push tests provided excellent results. I didn't yet examine each MW and tweeter to make sure they are all functioning properly, but based on the sweet, balanced sounds I was hearing, I think it's a safe assumption that they're all working as they should be. The only issue that we had with setting them up was that a couple of the spikes got a little bent out of alignment when we were trying to get the speakers stood up and in place. It was a little difficult to handle and control the speakers while trying to get the spikes seated correctly on floor discs since the speakers wouldn't exactly hover for us and there was no room for error working over hardwood floors with very sharp spikes. They did realign pretty nicely though and seem to be pretty secure.

Thanks again Larry for offering these up and for doing so much to get them here quickly and safely. Also, great thanks to Steve for being of such incredible assistance in coordinating the logistics of this speaker shipping process for me.

I'll report soon with more impressions after I get a chance to enjoy these terrific speakers for a while.

From my experience, few grill pegs don't matter as long as you have one or two on that side.
If all pegs are missing on one side then they kinda become shaky.
I had few with missing top pegs but the middle and lower ones held them fine, no rattles.
