The Mills leads are heavy gauge copper, and are easily formed to avoid that.Home Theater/2 Channel:

BK, great work... everything is moving along now. Now waiting for your listening impressions after you morphed these together.

I am closer....already put dynamat on the driver and passive baskets...probably do other xover tonight...
sidebar : been using these Infinity RSe's for a while now and I have to say they sound great...Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's -
update...
The cabs are in great shape. I was going to have them painted black but now I just think I'm going to leave them alone...It would be too much black stuff along the wall and the fine redish vinyl will add some contrast.
xovers are done, just need to glue everything down and clean wire leads with deoxit...
Dynamat and J-B weld
should finish them up soon...Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's -

quick question i had to spin one of the drivers to get the wires to reach (quarter turn)....is that a big deal...?Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's

Lookin very good! Sure fun to sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Turning the driver should make no impact on the sound.
-
For symmetry, you can turn both drivers, so the connectors are facing each other. Either way it won't affect the performance.
You should also consider upgrading the internal wiring at some point. The 10s are 18 gauge if memory serves.
For now enjoy them. You think they sound good now? Just wait till everything burns-in.Home Theater/2 Channel:

thanks, yes...should i be using a wider tip on my soldering rig for point to point...? Same temp 750ish...?

What tip are you using? I have the same soldering station your using... picked it up off audiokarma at the members discount pricing and have really enjoyed using it. -
it works really well...I'm just using the one that came with it....I can't find a number on it...Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's

I just use the pointed tip that came on the Weller. My thing with the point to point for my Infinitys was to take pics of the original layout as a reference to help putting the new components back. It helped me when understanding the schematic.Polk Lsi9

oh yeah...some really odd values in caps and resistor...need an 8.5, do you think an 8.2 will be ok...?Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's

its in the tweeter section...Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's

You can also add values together in order achieve correct replacement. I've played with changing inductors and caps on speakers of less value than Infinitys.... but would not mess too much with those OX's.

I agree but the original is 10% so don't think being .3 off will freak it out that much...Marantz 1152 DC- Denon DP 1200, Soundsmith Carmen MKII- ADS L980 - Blue Jeans IC's

Some would say yes to the 8.2, others will absolutely not settle. I would personally talk to the great folks at Sonic Craft. They will make custom values.
I re-did my Rsb with new coils, caps and resistors/pots, and the size of the boards required to fit everything increased exponentially. It took two boards per speaker to have what I considered to be a good layout, and the low/mid board ended up mounted to the bottom of the cab as I became concerned with the weight of the components hanging vertically. It was a fun project.Polk Lsi9
