SDA-2B Plastic Crossover standoffs

I have a pair of SDA-2B speakers and noticed that several of the plastic standoff clips that hold the crossover to the large inductor in one of the speakers have broken. Does anyone know a source to obtain these, or something else to use that might provide a more secure connection? I'm looking at upgrading the crossovers sometime down the road, hopefully with a new set of PCBs at that time, but I assume I will still need to mount the new board in the same manner. Any info is much appreciated.

Take a look at the mounting hardware (first 4 line items) on this page: http://www.gimpod.com/parts.html

Whether you're using gimpod's boards (so much nicer to work with than stock) or the stock boards themselves, this is a good way to mount.

Thanks. Do you happen to know if all of those parts are used in the stock mounting or just the plastic standoff piece? I don't see where the plastic screw and nut and washers would get used in the original mounting...

None of those are the single spring-clip standoff piece that Polk used. The parts listed on gimpod's site are basically a bolt, a nut, a spacer (the standoff) and washers. The standoff/spacer just creates a gap between the inductor cup and the board. It's not a fastener itself. The bolt goes through the holes in the outer ring of the inductor cup, then through the standoff, then the board, and is secured with the nut. Since it's bolted on, the board can't bounce off like it can those little spring clips.

If the need is urgent, I have (in a pinch) threaded a pair of long zip ties through the open holes in the inductor cup (not the one the bolt to secure it to the cabinet goes through in the center, and assuming they're not covered with hot glue). One zip tie through each hole in opposite directions, then fasten them on the bottom side of the cup, reseat the PCB on its spring clip standoffs with the zip ties coming out from the cup around the board, and secure the zip ties over the top of the board. It's an ugly hack but works while you're waiting for Mouser to send you better hardware.

This seems to come up a lot over the time I have been here even before I got my 2Bs. 1 of my x-overs was just dangling away and the other side some of the standoffs are broke. When I spoke to Trey about sending them out he said he would take care of that problem. For now I am ty rapping them. I don't know if it happens over time and plastic gets so brittle and then gravity takes over or in moves they snap.

I have some spare originals. PM me, and I'll send you a couple to tide you over. I use M4 threaded nylon standoffs for all new work.
