Sure thing David! Be watching for a gallon milk jug to show up on your doorstep soon. I'll include a pair of plastic 3D glasses so you can see the fluid when you pour it out of the jug. You did know that burned in coupling fluid is 3D didn't you? Without the 3D glasses you can't even see it. Most people don't even know it's in the cabinets and unknowingly let it out the first time they open the cabinets.
Well shucks, guess I'll need more than a gallon then, who knew....

Sure you could wire up external crossovers and run a signal thru them, but what's the point? Just more work to do.

My only point is that I think it could be done. When I said that I wasn't convinced that it couldn't be done I was given a mini-lecture on the undiscovered God-particle, the Nobel Prize, and customers who can't wait for their new guitar or refurbed equipment to break in.

But none of that convinced me that it was "impossible" to condition caps and resistors "outside of the box."

Would it be extra work if it could actually be done? Sure. But if it wasn't too much work and would allow those puppies to break-in in a REAL WAY in a matter of a week or two of near constant use versus the months I would be looking at I would be interested. But I'm not expecting that to happen.

I simply cannot play my M10's 24/7 given my family dynamics. I would have to wait quite a while for them to finally settle in. And I know that is what I'll end up doing.

But .... I am not convinced that a circuit could not be set up and run in corner of a basement or a garage and get the job done. I speak of only mere possibility at this point. Not about what is practical. Setting up a circuit would be easy. Setting up THE circuit to actually do the job may not be practical. I understand that. But I'm not convinced that it is impossible. That is my only point at this point. And I don't think I need to keep reiterating that at this point.

Nevertheless, somebody who likes to play around, measure, and chart things may want to mess around with something like this justfor the heck of it. Or maybe not.

Phasewolf says his experiment "may" have shortened the time. But maybe not. I suspect there are a number of variables involved. But whatever. My question has been answered. No one has done what I have inquired about. I'm satisfied.

I'm off the topic unless somebody has a revelation.

Concerning the fluid coupling I do have a question. Would I be better off with used motor oil or old bath water when I finally do my crossovers?

Guys these are fluid coupled speakers. The crossovers must be submersed in fluid when you burn them in or they will never sound right. When done properly the fluid, sealed tightly inside the cabinets, is conditioned at the same rate as the crossovers to create a good synergy between them. If you burn in the crossovers outside the cabinets you are just pissing in the wind.
BTW, I have some extra burned in fluid for sale if anyone has lost some out of their speakers.
I'll trade you some bubble water for your level......
