My HT has 8 amps totaling 2,000 watts per channel at 8 ohms. Obviously I don't use all that power. Yes it's overkill, what can I say, I like amplifiers. There is an amp for every speaker pair and the mains are bi-amped.

Just over a 1KW right now.
Upon completion of bi-amping & tri-amping: (500+ X 2) + 400 + (200 X 2) + 500 = 2.3KW!

It depends on which system and my mood at the time. I keep many amps in the rotation. 1.5wpc up to 1800wpc. Every speaker seems to have a particular range it likes.Vinyl, the final frontier...

Given the room size (large) my propensity to rock out on occassion, and the average efficiency of the speakers I typically own, I like to be around 200-250 watts @ 8ohms, with plenty of current capability.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2

^^^ NICE! ^^^
Tom~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~ -

Into my 4-ohm speakers, I've had between 150 and 400w. Now I have settled on ~300w with my LSA. Plenty for my listening. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
