The cylinder subs came in three sized back then. The first number is the stock tuning frequency and the second is the height of the tube. Ex: 25-31(25Hz-31"tall), 20-39, 16-46,
Next, they offered three levels of performance, from entry to top:
PC (updated to PCi - better driver, 320 Watt BASH amp) MSRP ~$599
PC Plus (Even better driver & more power, 525 Watt BASH amp) MSRP ~ $899
PC Ultra (Best driver, 525 Watt BASH amp w/ EQ) MSRP~$1149
Also, they made a non-powered range of passive cylinders, the CS line.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2 -

That's what I was gonna say. $200 for the sub and source a cheap amp and you're miles ahead of what you'd pick up new retail... -
Theres a powered 25-31 for $270, and a powered 16-46 for $500 but they are 5 hrs awayMan cave:

Not even close to being worth the drive. Just get the 25-31 CS for $200 and pick up a 250-300 watt plate amp from Parts Express for $120-$160. Can find a metal enclosure to put the amp in or make one out of wood. Would be a nice under $400 sub system.
Or again consider DIY, looks like Epik might have some of the 12"s still available: https://store.epiksubwoofers.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=12AD
Get two of those for $150, get a couple of plate amps for $250, or a used pro amp like a Behringer EP for $150-$200. Then get some wood, glue, nails, wire, terminals and make a couple of dual sealed or ported for under $500.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2 -

Oh, I saw that listing...He's in Metro Detroit, thats where I'm originally from. That Fidek amp does 200watts per channel into 4 ohms. have an extra channel if you decide to add a second passive sub. Could put a quiet fan in it if that has not been done that. Supposed to be about 30lbs and SVS sold those for $319 as options to drive the passive subs. I never heard those Norh speakers...or conversation piece drums, LOL! I just remember seeing them in audio magazines for years.2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2

Talking to the other guy that would meet me in Toledo, I just pay his gas and tolls for the powered 25-31. Assuming 30MPG, Id be at $300-310 ish for the powered. Then not need for extra stuff, and it would only be about 20-30 minutes father than the passive one!Man cave:

Is the big opening in the wall going make my sub feel smaller? Assuming so because the room size is so much larger actually for waves to travel.
Can I, or should I make some kind of temporary or removable block/filler for that cut out to used during "movie time"?
Since Ill have 2 subs, and I have a Y splitter.... Im thinking of trying to run both just to see what it sounds like, or is this a waist of time bc they are so different?Man cave:

For hole in the wall, are referring to the fireplace? If so, yeah, you could take a sheet of anything to slide in front of it for a temp set up.
Do you feel any bass with your sub in that corner? It looks so far away from the action so to speak.
Heck yeah, if you've got two subs, try 'em out, I'd try one up front and one in the back and see if it improves your overall bass response.Source: BRP Panasonic UB9000, CDP Emotiva ERC3 - Display: LG OLED EVO 83 C3 - Pre/Pro: Marantz 8802A - Amplification: Emotiva XPA-DR3, XPA-2 x 2, XPA-6, Speakers, Mains/2ch-Focal Kanta No2's, C-LSiM706, S-702F/X, RS-RTiA9's, WS-RTiA9's, FH-RTiA3's, Subs - Epik Empire x 2

Ive got the fireplace covered already, just to stop a draft issue. If you look close you can see I built an insulated box around it.
I was refering talking the cutout above the ugly blue couch, and the super wide doorway next to it (that also leads right up the stairs as well, that you also cant see)Man cave:

Oh, well, what does the boss say, can you drywall it in? And possibly make a door for the entry? I wouldn't even do that, at big parties we put bar stools there too and we get 3 more seats. That's why I'd do a temp or removable option.

Just let her know that you are being VERY reasonable in selling the first sub and finding a USED replacement. Also, your hobby is something that the two of you can sit down and enjoy together. Its much cheaper to watch movies at home then at the show. We only live once!
Then show her this post of what some other wife is dealing with...Sixteen 18" subs!

Well left at 4am and headed for Cleveland. Was back home by 12:45, guy I bought from must have had $50k in stuff. Pure craziness!
The sub ended up being from 2002, it just says 25-31 PCi....... no NSD or Plus labels, was there distinction back then?Man cave:

Good you got it. PCi is the updated entry model...Look at my post #36.
So it was in Cleveland...I just missed out on an Onkyo 818 posted on CL in Cleveland for $375. I was going to try and have a friend who lives there try and get it for me but...I had to many things going. Last week I picked up a defective Onkyo 806 and cracked that open along with a couple of amps for my 3000's. Now I just need to order parts...and get my sub box built. Too many projects...but its fun!2.2 Office Setup | LG 29UB55 21:9 UltraWide | HP Probook 630 G8 | Dell Latitude | Cabasse Stream Amp 100 | Boston Acoustics VS 240 | AUDIORAX Desk Stands | Mirage Omni S8 sub1 | Mirage Omni S8 Sub2
