BTW Gents....it wasn't the overhead garage door, but a regular door connecting the house to the garage. AND...I do have a keypad on the outside but ya know why I never use it ?
BECAUSE I CAN NEVER EFFIN' REMEMBER THE DAMN CODE !!!
So I used to change the code to something easy to remember.....then the battery would always be dead when I needed to use the keypad. Then I'd change the battery .....and forget the damn code again. AAARRRGGG !!!
I'm gonna invent a keypad that doesn't use numbers. One that has 1000 pics of naked women and only one can open the door. Crap....I'll forget that too.HT SYSTEM-

Now THAT is funny!
Tony, we've all done that, but twice in one day? That's funny, too
Put a lock box outside (like the ones REALTORS use) and it'll never be a a PITA again. Just say'n

Except he has to have a KEY to get into the lock box!!! ROTFLMAO!!!!! We all have those "senior" moments. I'm known for locking myself out of my truck at work. My best one was last year when I was heading up a crew trying to restore a cut fiber cable down in SteveinAz land....That's about 90 miles from where I report to. I got in the truck to make some needed phone calls, and when I got out I locked it up, and as the door closed I saw my keys sitting on the seat.
I usually have a spare, but I was afraid I'd lose it pulling my phone out of my pocket every 5 minutes, so I tossed them in my lunchbox....Also on the seat.
The boss wasn't happy when I had to call to get someone to break in to my truck.
"I'm gonna invent a keypad that doesn't use numbers. One that has 1000 pics of naked women and only one can open the door. Crap....I'll forget that too."
You'll spend all day checking out the keypad and forget why you were there in the first place. My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself. -
Tony that is too funny brother...
I had an interesting moment back when I was remodeling my house. The day before I had discovered termite damage in the kitchen and there was a 1.5 foot or so hole in the floor. The next day I had to go outside to pay a guy with a check for some reason, I think lawn care. I have a heavy duty tumbler code lock on my main doors and a regular lock that locks from the inside and can still be opened which I do not use ever. Well apparently I had locked that lock when leaving the house? Go figure.
So I open my truck door to write a check and it was a habit of mine to hit the lock button when closing the door. So after writing the check I had closed the door, locking my keys and wallet inside my truck and my cell phone was in my house.
By the time I realize I am locked out of my house the guy I was paying had already left and no neighbors were home.
I bet you I sat outside for a good 45 minutes cussing myself for being such an idiot before remembering the hole in the kitchen floor, climbed right into the house, called AAA and they came and unlocked my truck.
If there ever was a silver lining to a crappy situation that was it!
We all have those moments! :-P- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

You really need an electronic keypad to open your garage doors...
But you literally sound JUST like me when my wife is out of town! Nothing but great food and music! (with the dog naturally) -
I hope you are relieved to hear that many of us here have the same affliction. I cant count how many times I have walked out the door without my packed lunch sitting in the fridge. I know the local diner is benefitting from my dementia.

I used to ride dirt bikes quite a bit around the San Diego area until it got harder and harder to ride legally.
A friend from work suggested I try Superstition OHV area just west of El Centro, CA about 2 hrs from where I live.
This was years ago.
I drive out with my bike in the back of my pickup, unload the bike, move my tool kit to the bed to do some pre-riding tuneups and then I wanted to get my cell phone from the cab....except I had left the keys IN the truck with the doors locked!
So, there I am - 2 hrs in the middle of nowhere, locked out of my truck...awesome.
I had to break into my own truck - fortunately I had the tool kit outside of the cab. I pulled off the rubber seal around the back sliding cab window and used a skinny putty knife to pop open the latch so I could climb into the cab to get the keys.

Resonance....hmmm, could be a factor seeing that there's nothing filling up space between the ears. I'm more concerned about the 'ouch" factor and sizeable lump that follows. Too bad they don't make Nerf frying pans, then it would be "game on".HT SYSTEM-

Hilarious, next time the wife's gone at least put a robe on that way you lessen the chance of getting arrested for public indecency and loud music next time it happen's. If it happened twice in one day its bound to happen again. I think alzheimers might be setting in just sayin.Home Theater

I had gone outside to warm up and clean off my truck cause of the blowing snow, when I went to go back inside I was locked out and find my trucks door was locked also
lucky for me my 2nd house I was fixing up was just around the corner and my sister was staying there at the time, was able to bang on the window scaring the crap out of her and get my spare keys and had to run back home to other house.
