    Keiko, nice use of the image of the gipper. Looking back in hindsight, I remember as a kid watching the government public service announcements showing that the united states was putting together SDI, or 'star wars' or 'strategic defense initiative' or whatever you have heard it commonly called. Bomb pumped lasers, killer satellites, etc. My eyes were wide open, my schoolyard friends and I thought that Star Wars was really coming alive.

    Decades later after finding out that SDI didn't exist and that Reagan had contrived it to drive the Soviet Union bankrupt trying to keep up with us...I just couldn't help but be amazed at how incredibly effective that initiative was. I have to give the man his props.

    A few years back I got to watch the launching of the USS Ronald Reagan...man that was a proud moment.
