    I believe he was referring to the upper and lower frequency drivers, not the IC socket.
    I'm aware of that. I was pointing out that what's supposed to be there, isn't always there, and since the IC Socket is on the same Binding Post Cup, he might as well check the wiring on that as well. The Hi-Pass wiring to the Binding Posts may be Clear 14 gauge wire, with color coded tape on it. The tape has a tendency to fall off.

    I had a friend do the test with me so I could be listening live while he plugged and unplugged the SDA cable. Even for good ears, it's still much easier to hear the SDA impact that way verses running to the back of the speakers to plug and unplug.

    when I first got my SRS's I had a similar problem. No dimensional effect. Mine turned out to be oxidized connections in the SDA circuit. When you do get it, you will no it. You don't have to concentrate or try hard; it's right there in front of you and beside you, and many other places in the room.
    If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!
