I kind of thought Mr_Natural's original post was pretty straight up and kind of respectful, IMO.
Wasn't looking for a handout or a freebie, was upfront about seeing if there was a way to gain access to the FM even if it meant he had to pay.

That it was interpreted as a possible "Snatch & Grab" was incorrect, IMO. As others have explained, though, it's kind of understandable if folks are a little protective of what is good.

As for Jhayman, well .... it should be mentioned that there's been many reports of mass moose die-offs "up there" lately.
Not saying that Jhayman is personally responsible, but ... well .... if you got moose, you might want to keep a closer eye on them until Jhayman can clear this situation up.

I'm starting to see there are some very witty people on here...and there also seems to be more than a few who like to goad people just to see what kind of response they get.

The only thing that bugs me about not being able to sell here, is having to sell some of my polk audio on craigslist and eBay without first giving someone on here a chance on a rare item for a good price.

Some truth in that, but you will see this in many Forums. Club Polk is actually very civil compared to some others.

I thought it would be fitting to insert my 100th post in this thread. I thought I would make some comments about this forum.

I've come a long way in four months and have learned a lot. After buying my speakers, I had someone from this forum hand pick my receiver and blu-ray player for me on the used market. I learned about how cables can make a difference and bought some intro level audiophile speaker cables to replace my clear coats, and when I hooked them up I was able to tell a difference in sound in less than one minute. I had been using 14g clear coat generic wire and even though the intro cables were the same gauge, they had a much warmer sound to them. Cables are something I hope to experiment with in the future. I was shown how to add dynamat to my blu-ray player and purchased a recommended power cable for it. I again immediately noticed a difference. Many members here have answered my questions over the past 3.5 months. All help has been greatly appreciated. I'm not accustomed to people going out of their way to help someone and not ask anything in return. I was helped with proper speaker placement and calibration, which made a huge difference. I was in need of another HDMI cable so I recently purchased my first Audioquest item. I had always used monster cables. When it arrives I look forward to seeing if it makes a difference in sound while playing music CDs when I swap out that cable. I've been looking into room treatments for awhile now. I was hoping to build my own or purchase some used ones, but haven't found any near me yet. Before I came here, I didn't know what acoustic panels and bass traps were.

My fear is this is a dying hobby for the younger generation due to the popularity of MP3s and compressed music. I originally intended for my setup to be used mostly for HT, but I've been spending an hour a day using it for music all due to this forum. I lurk, but don't post a lot, unless I have a question. And usually when I do have a question, if I search long enough I am able to find the answer without posting. I've also been quite entertained by some of the threads here. I've never been so amused by "black paint" before. I've never had a single problem with anyone here, but I have to say, almost 25% of the threads I read usually ends up with a member not being able to get along with others. It's a different member each time, but they never seem to be new members. Instead of being so critical of new members, maybe you should start being critical of established members that don't seem to get what a community is. They should know better. Give new members a chance to learn how things work around here or you'll just end up with the same old members and the forum will never grow. Some of us new guys aren't all bad.

Time for some much needed sleep now.

Quantity isn't really important. But any community does need new input to thrive. People should give new comers a chance and not automatically assume just because someone is new here that there is/will be a problem with them. Everyone here was a newcomer at some point right?

While true, how that newcomer is perceived rests squarely on their shoulders.

I agree to an extent. The key is perception. Everyone's perception can be tainted by there own experiences. There must have been or still are some serious jerks here to make some feel as they do. I've seen it in this thread and others since I've been looking around. It seems that many here have a negative perception from the get go and anyone new here is already fighting an uphill battle. Not that I really care one way or the other. As I read and use the search function I've been getting very good info and people still seem eager to help when questions are asked and that is really what is important. And I don't mean that as though MY questions getting asked is what is important. I rarely ask questions and normally find answer by searching. But that peoples questions are answered in general.

I can't believe it's been 5yrs since I purchased my RTi A9's, Then in January I found this place, and turned my audio experience into a addiction, and lots of money spent...

Getting to 100 posts is nothing, if your here for the right reasons..

    Gotta love it!!

Due to recent events in a different thread...I stand corrected!

But I still stand behind the statement, "Some of us new guys aren't all bad."
