There is possibility of parole from F1's BOZO list??

What is the world coming to?

New guys, it's a community. That is what the forum is about. Don't take this the wrong way but if you are just here to make a quick purchase or sale and bail? That isn't the point....there are many places online to do so. The Polk forum is about more than that. Stick around, it's worth your time.

If you feel that the 100 post limit is unfair, you're missing the point of a forum.

If you feel that you now have to post arbitrary stuff just to be able to take advantage (and I mean that in a negative way) of the community then you're missing the point of a community.

If you feel you have nothing to contribute then, why are you here?

We were all n00bs at one point or another. Some know lots of stuff about audio. Some think they know lots of stuff about audio. Some know nothing about audio but want to learn. Some know nothing about audio but lots of stuff about other stuff.

You don't have to be an audio expert to participate. You contribute in your own way. If your only way to contribute is to spew post and after post of BS then, seriously, move on. There's already more than our fair share of BS here. We're not in the market for more.

As Mr. Grand of the Jersey Grands has so eloquently put it previously, that's going to piss someone off and they need to know ahead of time that I don't care.
You make a good point that I didn't realize. I don't have much to contibute as far as audio. I am a newb as far as audio/visual equipement goes. I am knowledgeable about many other things though and would gladly contribute if the opportunity arrises. In the last few days I've been on here I have notices that this seems to be a much tighter community than most other forums I am a member of.

I do want to make one other point. Who says my only objective is/was to buy/sell equipement? I only posted asking if there was a way to become a paid member and have full access to the forum since many other forums have an option like that. Many people seem to be making the assumption that I have no other interest here. You know what they say about making ASSumptions don't you? I have been reading this forum for weeks before even joining. When I started getting the bug to upgrade my cheap surround sound and started doing google searches I kept getting brought here. Then I found a good deal on the 3 front speakers that I bought very cheap. I started googling them before I bought them. Again, google kept bringing me here. As I said in an earlier post, I am a paid member on over a dozen online forums. I still frequent nearly all of them daily or at least once or twice a week. Several of which I have been on for a handful of years. Even on those forums my post count probably isn't over a 100 on a single one. I am a reader and when I actually have queations I use the search funtion and usually find an answer without having to post questions. But don't take the fact that I dont typically post much to mean I am not a part of those communities or that I don't contribute to them. Several of these forums, particularly the jeep and harley ones, have local sections that have group outtings and local meet and greets that I attend regularly. A jeep JK forum I am a member of has a fall colors run in the baldwin michigan area and a mid summer badlands run in attica indiana that i have been attending for a handful of years. Each of these is a weekend of camping and beer drinking at night, and jeeping in the day. So...please, just because I was asking for a faster way to make FULL use of the forum don't assume that is my only interest here.

Look, it takes a while to get the lay of the land around here. We certainly are a close knit family which makes us unusual for an internet audio forum. We may not be the biggest, or even the best audio forum, but we sure have some darn nice people as members with a wealth of knowledge. This forum is like a comfy lazyboy chair, just feels like home. Glad to see we have converted some, made new friends in the process, and share our audio affections between us all. Lets not also forget the awesome job Polk does with the forum and their contributions. Yes, I'm looking at you Ken, and Polks frickin' awesome CS people.

I also found it frustrating to find out about the number of post needed to access the FM. I was in search of some SDA's and pretty much understood the quality of the sound they reproduce. My dad had owned a pair of SDA SRS's since the early/mid 80's. I started researching and reading to uncover a wealth of knowledge. Also by not being able to view the FM I convinced my dad to sell me the original pair. Now I have a pair and know exactly how they have been treated for almost 30 years now. Now instead of searching for my purchase I spend my time researching upgrades.

Welcome to the site. This is a great place that I never knew existed and provides me with more information than I ever thought I could find. Sit back. I think it's a good feature to have, i've bought and sold tons of stuff to members and not ever had to worry about an issue. Everyone here takes care of each other and makes sure there's no snags with transactions. If anyone could just join and start selling stuff there's no attachment to the forum or members, it's just better for everyone to get to know people here first. Welcome to the Forum, you're already well on your way.

Very true. I know on many forums there seems to be what is the common consensus and many just repeat it over and over again even if they have no experience with it themselves. I've learned many times that these things that many take as common knowledge are just not true.

I've been coming here and reading for a few weeks. I never even bothered to even try and look in the classifieds section. When I posted that I wanted to buy particular speakers on another forum someone said I'd probably have better luck here. I did not mean for my original post to sound as though that was my first time here or that buying speakers was my only intention. It was just my first post because I looked for a way to do the paying member thing and didn't find it.

I kind of thought Mr_Natural's original post was pretty straight up and kind of respectful, IMO.
Wasn't looking for a handout or a freebie, was upfront about seeing if there was a way to gain access to the FM even if it meant he had to pay.

That it was interpreted as a possible "Snatch & Grab" was incorrect, IMO. As others have explained, though, it's kind of understandable if folks are a little protective of what is good.

As for Jhayman, well .... it should be mentioned that there's been many reports of mass moose die-offs "up there" lately.
Not saying that Jhayman is personally responsible, but ... well .... if you got moose, you might want to keep a closer eye on them until Jhayman can clear this situation up.
