So today isnt a good day. I love my little girl & i hope they can fix this. This stuffs scares me more than anything ive ever been through. I wont be around for awhile. I just had to step outside for a min. My wife is strong & i will be too

Be positive Randy....and strong for her. They can remove a portion of her intestines and the infection can be treated with an I.V. of anti-biotic. She'll be there awhile longer as they will need to watch her blood counts to make sure the infection is steadily decreasing.

you got it--just talked with Doctor & she said its rare this happens. But it does. they should do just as you said Tonyb . They think there was a tear or something. So i feel alittle better. Wife is alittle stronger than i.LOL. I went outside & spent 10 mins alone & feel much better. Sometimes ya think your tough But inside we all hurt..thanks a bunch. I never thought id blab all my stuff but sometimes it helps in some situations :)

It is rare this happens Randy, but it does sometimes. The concern of course is to keep the infection from spreading to other organs so she has to be closely monitored to make sure that happens. Given her age, I would imagine within the next 3 days the doctors can tell you if she's out of the woods, her blood counts will dictate that. She's young....strong, she should recover just fine.

Shes more alert today. They got her sitting in a chair. All the tubes are going to be there for a bit. She says there is still sharp pains in one area (not near surgery opening) When this kid say pain-there is something there. Hopefully sitting up things will move around if there is more fluid where it shouldnt be. So time will tell. She is one cranka$$ too boot & dad agitates her :)

Here's wishing for a speedy recovery. She now has a world of food choices ahead of her.

After coming out of a 3-day coma @ the age of 10, I still recall my first solid meal was hospital spaghetti & meatballs + green beans. She too will now have positive dining memories to last a lifetime.

pumping stuff out of her stomach through a tube because surgeon inspected 22 FEET of her intestines & found nothing. So at this point they are testing the content to see where the problems are. It takes so many days for it to cure to be able to get accurate whereabouts. I guess after they mess with your intestines it can take 3-5 days also for them to begin to operate the way they should & hers werent in the right way anyways. So time will tell--im grateful the team working with her awesome-- the surgeon team of 5-6 visit her twice a day & treat her very well. I know they will figure it out & her staying there makes me comfortable

Thanks Dskip for the thoughts. It was a rough day for her today. They stopped pumping out her stomach to see if intestines were workng midmorning but they had to hook it up again. No go yet. So tube in stomach is staying. They got her doped up & shes in & out all day :( which isnt like her. Maybe tomorrow will be a better day :)

I know it's heartbreaking, but consider that her entire digestive track is essentially in "Shock" right now. She's in the right place, with the right people around her, and a loving and supporting family by her side. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
