gottcha. back to it today. had another bad thunderstorm come thru last night. this time, everything was unplugged; should have been that smart the first time. i'm still kicking myself in the butt for being so dumb. my sister in Ashville says you guys in NC have been getting a ton of consistant rain.

We set record for rainfall in the triangle area, around the first of June, and then broke that 3 weeks later. Asheville has had twice the average rainfall.

I've lived here most of my life and never seen the like!

okay. I picked up replacement fuses for the crossovers and gold plated push connecters for the mid. I have clipped the wires from the mid, and the solder job is terrible. I have no way to remove the solder blobs on the speaker. since the connector is on a swivel-type "thing," (ok-laugh-I don't know how else to describe it) and there are 2 clips below the primary connecter, can I put the push connecters on these instead?

Yes you can. Each terminal has two connection choices - use either one.

You need a solder sucker, or just use the alternate connector.

well, the tweeters are tweeting and the woofers are woofin'. I've got my speakers back!!! tomorrow I am going to take out the other 3 mids and check them; if they have solder connections, they are getting clipped and gold push connectors are going on. thanks to all of you for the help. now, on the the amp, preamp situation. Those MW's are ~ 30 years old and the glue holding the magnets in place is probably getting a little weak. I'd pull all the MW's and epoxy the magnets for peace of mind.

Glad your speaks are back and it was something simple.
