First of all, I'd to say that I really like polk speakers. Currently having a SRT , RTi system, and a few Lsi speakers in my home.

During the 50% discount period, I immediately placed my orders for a complete Lsim systems cost nearly $4k.
Throughout the weekend, I told my friends about it and they're excited. each friend asked me to buy 1 or 2 low cost speaker for them. I placed a few orders for my friends and late last week, someone in the Sales Department left me a voicemail saying that they're cancelling all those because they think that I was buying to resale. Anyone in the Sales Department, please help me out.

Order 1500 - 2 A9s to be shipped to SC 29464
Order 1419 - A6 to be shipped to Oakland, CA
Order 1418 - A3 to be shipped to SF, CA
Order 1187 - A3 to be shipped to Vegas, NV
Order 1044 - A6 to be shipped to Pflugerville, TX

Order 498 and 812 - Please cancel these, as my friends are no longer interested after I told them the situation.

Are you part of the Polk Friends and Family? As in are you an employee or friend/family of an employee? If not, you did not fall under the guidelines. Also - yes since you were tagged as buying it for other people they were once again within their rights to cancel all your orders.

Perhaps you should call their customer service line - did you do so before coming here?

    Seriously dude?

I mean seriously, come on, this has to be a joke, you can't think that a 50% off sale is going to allow you to ship speakers all over for other parties involved.

Your friends can't order something for themselves so they just have one person order, yeah that seems SUPER legit. NOT

I bet it was more, oh hey, guess what I can get you a great deal on some new speakers, like 40% off and I'll get them shipped to your door! Just send me **** amount and I'll get them there, no worries, and then just pocket the difference, that seems far more plausable than what you describe.

Although you MAY have just been trying to hook your buds up. It does look kinda strange. Too bad you were stopped dead in your tracks. Alot of others would have loved that deal you had & played fair. Good luck trying to get a deal still. But DONT blame Polk. Good day

if any of you thinking that I was going to resale them. really? come on now... how much am I going to make with these low cost speakers?

if that was my plan, don't you think it makes more sense for me to buy more Lsim and ship to my home instead?

why does it matter where my friends live? Polk is covering the shipping cost either way as long as it's in US.

I am just shocked to get treated this way after spending $4k and over $10k in Polk speakers in the past.

You never answered my questions. Are you an employee, or friends/family of one? It was a FRIENDS AND FAMILY sale. Just because you spent any amount of money on Polk in the past does not give you the right to take advantage of a sale that was per their terms, and was subject to their rules/regulations. You shared this, and likely you yourself were not entitled to the sale let alone all the people you purchased it for.

This is akin to me spending $200k at Best Buy, but sharing my employee discount with all my friends (if I worked there). You are entitled to nothing. You weren't treated any particular way.

You took advantage and got caught. So....you should be ashamed, not blaming them for catching you. The fingers are pointed your way, not theirs.

It got posted everywhere because it's the internet and the deal time sites and others got wind of the promo designed for only ones who received official email....not every Tom, Dick and Harry

I sense a deletion in this thread's future. If you're looking for sympathy, you've come to the wrong place. You're shipping coast to coast, and not expecting red flags to go up?

I am a Polk fan, that is why I wanted to post here first (not other audio forums) to get some help from the Sales Department to see if they can ship them to my friends.

The way you get help from the sales department is to call the sales department, not by posting about it here. Give them a call and see what they say.

You made the orders for other people. That's the definition of resale. Even if you were not going to take profit off the transaction.

The sure fire way to settle this debate is for you to buy me a pair of Polk SDA's. Ship them to me on your dime. Totally free of charge mind you. And I will report back to Polk CS that you are on the up and up! Whatch think?

    Hello polklsim,
It might be a good idea to telephone Polk's CS department at 1-800-377-7655 and explain what happened, I'm not sure anything can be done, but it wouldn't hurt to talk with them.
    Regards, Ken

I called the CS late last week and they told me the same thing. I talked with my friends over the weekend. 2 of them weren't too happy of how Polk accused me reselling, when I was clearly trying to help them get a deal. So, those 2 friends told me to forget it and cancel the orders (the ones that I listed), but the rest still want theirs.

To me there is two ways this could have gone down a little better...

    1) You ship all the speakers to your house and your friends pay you to ship the speakers to them and they cover the freight versus Polk receiving a separate bill to/ship to. You may think this sounds stupid but I have a solution for the stupidity of option 1

    2) Your friends should have logged on to the site and bought them themselves so Polk would receive 15 separate transactions going to 15 separate places versus 1 transactions going 20 different places, you know, because that is not weird at all...

If your friends did not want to do option 2 then paying the little extra and still receiving a good price on option 1 seems fair as they are paying for services rendered by you versus Polk being a shipping department for a single bill to customer.

I wish I had seven friends, much less seven friends spread across the country that were ready and willing to purchase speakers on a moments notice.

Just curious, do you spend much time on e-bay by any chance? If so, what's your ID? This is going to hurt your seller rating...

Why wouldn't you have passed on the login info to your friends instead of ordering for them? The ordering for your friends just reeks of funny business any way you look at it.

No. Just as easy for them to pay Polk than to pay you. They would have a proper receipt to register their warranty.
