Well, I tracked down my receipt. I forwarded it onto a customer service guy (who was cool). We'll see what happens.

Thanks everybody for your interest in my situation, and for your replies.

That is good news and I'm glad for you. From now on, you should experience the classic Polk Audio customer service they have earned. You did give them a phone call and not an e-mail, correct? If not, I would advise to do so for faster service.

Yes, I called polk. He sent me an email and I responded with the receipt attached. He is going to forward it to the appropriate person who will make the reapirs (Directed Electronics?).

Hope it works out. I would like nothing better than to come back to this thread singing a different tune.

Definitely good news! Congrat's Ryan. Two things to point out. You provided your receipt and it was purchased from an authorized dealer. Now you can sit back, relax and watch what Polk does best. I.E., customer service. One of the best in the business.

Glad it all worked out too

Now delete this thread so the rest of the "entitlement crew" don't get wind of free hand outs

ryanmx48 - me thinks this thread should have been titled "I REALLY LET POLK DOWN!"

And should have read something like this:

    "I bought a new PSW 505.
I didn't register it for the warranty.
I didn't keep the receipt somewhere that I knew I could find it.
When I had a problem with the sub's amp, I tried to get them to fix it for free knowing that it was likely out of warranty and that I hadn't even done what was required of me to have the warranty in effect at all in the first place.
When Polk told me it would cost $100 to fix the unit, I got online and badmouthed them to everyone I could.
I even registered on Polk's own forum so I could whine about Polk's customer service to the Polk faithful supporters.
Lots of people there told me I screwed up by not doing what was required/expected of me and that I really needed to find my receipt.
I dug and dug some more. Found the receipt! I knew it was here somewhere.
Then, even though I could see by the date on the receipt that it was out of warranty, I thought I'd push this some more. After all, I just think the sub shouldn't have any malfunctions in such a short time and Polk should fix it for me for free.
    ....
Hey, Polk is going to take care of this issue for me for free!
Never mind the badmouthing I was doing about Polk earlier.
I'm outta here. Be back when I got another issue.
    Thanks."

    Just my opinion here.

Actually man, I didn't complain online everywhere, I ONLY registered here and complained. My receipt was NOT here, it took me 2 hours of surfing the web and calling different places to get my receipt.

"Just your oppinion" sounds much more like "just your sarcasm", and ME THINKS, that you seem to be a wise-guy and probably find making friends to be difficult.

Not sure if you read the whole thread or not, but I don't feel that I really did any "badmouthing" except to say that I was "let down". I'm actually a really positive guy and even having to share what started off as a negative experience bummed me out. You actually did WAY more "badmouthing" (of me) in your one post than I have probably done in total this whole summer.

Thanks for spending so much of your time on me though, I appreciate it.
