    Now that I think about it - with a test sound around 18khz or 20khz with 2/3 volume you could easily send over 100w rms to the tweeters directly without even causing any clipping and then poof. The difference with normal sound is that majority would go to a bigger driver since almost any instrument out there and most natural sounds will cover a much bigger sound spectrum.

    correct that tone would slide right through the XO with little impedance (pun intended)

    Case closed!!!! even though the problem was not with the speakers but the owner that "pushed" those speakers over their limit. Here Polk Audio have proven once again that they mean business. Wonderful customer support. Hats off to Polk and their associates!!!
