eh im holding off on this, as i just went to school and cant even look at them anyway... any one know why the speakers are sticky? i dont think it was a outside thing as its just the wood covering the plastic is fine... just wondering may sound stupid... soap and water dosnt work ether and dont want to ruin the out sides of them

hey does anyone have any tips for speaker box restoration these early sda's? the finish feels almost like paper so I'm not sure of the best method in recondition them. It feels as if the glue has seeped through because its very uniform the stickiness. Any ideas would be appreciated, Thanks!
Also got the speakon stuff in just waiting a time to install it -
The covering is heavy grade, wood grained vinyl. The stickiness is most likely years of wax and dirt buildup. I found Fantastic, and a well used Scotch brite pad will remove all the dirt and wax. You can also use a fine Scotch Brite pad that's used instead of steel wool, from the hardware store. The scotch pad wont scratch at all tho? The surface seems very soft that's why I ask... I guess that could be the wax tho...

That's why I said a well used scotch brite pad. If your concerned, use some old rough terry cloth instead. You'll be amazed at the crap that comes off them.The scotch pad wont scratch at all tho?
