Would it be a pre-emptive strike if we just fire a single cruise missile and park it up Lil' Kim's a$$? Cut off the head of the snake as it were and then dare the next goose-stepping jackwagon to try us again... Just sayin

North Korea is slowly dying. No need for the US to intercede. The South Koreans have a well trained and fully equipped military. The US just needs to provide satellite intelligence.

North Korea is putting on a show for their cold, starving, depraved and brainwashed masses. They have no intention of committing suicide by starting a war. The young Kim was educated in an English speaking Swiss college. He knows what's going on.

I'd like to follow him on twitter.

I agree with you, and the others who say no. I also agree with Zingo who said we are damned if we do, and damned if we don't. I'm not a militaristic chicken hawk who wants to start a war at the drop of a hat, but, as you say, they are dying, and that can lead to desperation. Which is a bad thing when desperate nuts have nukes. Pakistan also is in this category.

If he does one overt act (missile launch, or any attack on South Korea as they have done in the past few years) then I have no problem hitting them where it hurts. I would prefer not, but it is up to them. My feeling is a unified Korea is doable, and will be nothing like Iraq. Rather it will be more like East Germany reunifying with West Germany.

Make no mistake gents, China is the real fly in the ointment here. They are bound by the Sino-North Korean Friendship and protection treaty, signed over 50 years ago. They may get dragged in holding their noses, but their code of honor indicates they will keep their word. Once the first drop of Chinese blood is spilled in this mess, you can bet they will move hard and fast to wipe out every last vestige of U.S. presence in the Asia-Pacific region... I would not expect 250,000,000 Chinese troops to want to stop there.

Red Dawn anyone? I think few of us truly understand just dangerous a predicament we find ourselves in, or recognize just how weak we have become to do anything about it. We are the biggest cat in the jungle, but we are paper tigers at best.

    A few thoughts....

If NK fires a nuke, it's probably made by ACME and has a coyote riding it. Thing would probably blow up over the pacific. Also, we do have intercept capabilities so I wouldn't worry too much. Thing is with these nutjob dictators is you do have to take threats seriously and be prepared because they are just wacky enough to fire one off.

China.....well, NK is just one of their pawns. In chess, the pawns move first. China doesn't like us, period. They are slowly chipping away at the dollar and even exclude it in trade agreements with other countries and that new banking system they are setting up. They have also been sinking money into building their military at huge rates. Couple that with our own government and what they are buying and doing, and it seems lots of people know something we as citizens don't. Ever feel like your the last to know something ?

The game is afoot, question is....will we be asleep at the wheel ?
