Should we preempt North Korea?

While I don't mind occasional nationalistic bluster from pipsqueak nations, when they have nukes and go on and on about using them on us I wonder at what point it becomes to much. Obviously, after a nuke has been set off is to late, but doing anything beforehand can possibly end with the same result.

On one hand we need to be telling China to get their buddy to STFU, and that probably is going on in the background, but if it doesn't work then what? Can we knock out their launch sites with cruise missiles? What kind of crap would a preemptive strike stir up? The last thing we need is another Iraq, but at least in this case there is a legitimate justification for it.

Just like Jimmy Carter diplomacy we can have Dennis Rodman diplomacy. Maybe he can wear his wedding dress. Then again that might start a war.

I say we make sure their guidance systems are accurate, then let them nuke California. Once they've shown they're serious we can just obliterate them.

The problem is if we preempt them then the US is the bad guy, and if we wait for them to act first then the US will be blamed for not doing anything first...

This would be NOTHING like Iraq. You cannot invade North Korea. You cannot put a single boot on the ground in North Korea. There will either be no military action, or there will be complete annihilation. We are not close to that point yet.

I think if we sat down with them and shared a pitcher of Kool-Aid, that all would be ok.

Yep some good ol'Jim Jones Kool-aid....

They must have some hold on their military over there, you would of thought some of their most senior Generals would take matters in there own hands and at least try to get better conditions for their people.

If we're going to give them Kool-aid, we may as well send Monsanto over there so they can genetically engineer a SURRENDER! lol I'm sure if someone can win a war through the use of Biochemical weapons of MASS CONSUMPTION these boys can do it! Besides N.K. needs massive food-aid and our friends at M can quadruple any food product over night. Especially in a place like N.K. where no one will care what they put in the ground! We just put the Kool-aid in the corn/rice, etc.!

We are still the top dog on the planet....this is clear as all extraterrestrial aliens want to invade/destroy us first.

Kim is just showing off to his generals that he's not afraid of the US. He will back down soon enough. He knows he can't win any war with the US.

Since they want ICBSs and thermonuclear warheads so badly I think we should just be generous and give them a half dozen or so.

I doubt that there would be more than five or six million casualties. Their capitol, their huge ammo dump in those mountains north of the capitol, both major military naval ports, and both atomic "research" facilities. Then allow South Korea to tear down the border barricades and release the starving civilians from the prison camps and let them get jobs at LG.

I have learned from reputable sources that in an effort to further reduce production costs and improve quality, Emotiva is opening a factory in North Korea. Their first offering will be the BPS 1000. It will offer 1000 wps from a single chassis, and cost just $1.99...:lol:

It is getting pretty close to needing at least a pre-emptive strike on their nuke facilities, but the danger is that the Chinese are pound by treaty to defend the North. If not handled carefully, Iran and the North Koreans will be tha catalysts for WWIII

Just ask "Kimmy" how long after he initiates his strike, he thinks it will take for his country to be reduced to nothing more than a large, smoking hole in the ground. Ask him if he truly believes that he can "win". Maybe ask him if he's basically running a suicide cult, intending go out in a thermonuclear blaze of glory. Ask him WTF is up with that haircut!

If Kim is just showing off to his people and his Generals, it doesn't make sense to do it this way and create high tensions. He controls the media and the news content in the country, so couldn't he just tell the North Koreans that he's king of the world, or everyone is scared of them, or some other delusion of grandeur?

Why doesn't China exert some pressure on North Korea ?
They are. They are encouraging them to keep rattling their sabers.

    Death of a thousand cuts.
Bleed us dry in the Middle East, in Africa, in the South China Sea.
China is exerting its muscle in the disputed South China Sea. Our response ? Send more ships.
North Korea getting uppity ? Send more ships. Move more missles to Alaska.
Yemen, Sudan, etc ? French get bogged down, we'll assist them.

A preemptive strike would be a disaster, IMO, of epic Biblical proportions. Like a good carpenter, measure twice and cut once.
