Suggest a power cord

As I get along in this hobby certain things confound me. My field is testing and certification of copper cable and fiber optic cable so it's difficult at times to separate the myriad of meter readings from perceived sonic differences. Every so often something that, on paper, shouldn't sound different winds up doing just that.

I'd like to try a new power cord for my Emo UPA-200 because I love this thing and want something better for it. What would anyone recommend for around $50? I was going to make my own cable with good quality ends and some Techflex but I figured it would probably run me over $50 anyways so that's where my price cap is for buying one. I'm curious to see if there's an actual difference in sound even though my core tells me it can't be. So please, if you're of the "power cables don't matter" camp, ignore this thread. Thanks!

PM pepster and see what he can do for ya lol.

If not check out audiogons used selection. Pangea comes to mind.

    How long do you need?

I haven't used pepsters but I've heard good things about his work. I'm using Pangea and like them...

You are not going to find much new at $50 that is useful. Spend $150 and get a new Shunyata Venom. When I added them to my amps I was so impressed that a month later I bought two Shunyata Python cables at 1k each.

Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

I may let go the tara labs PC I just bought for a 50. While I like it, I already have upgraded power cords and the Tara Labs is about on equal ground with the ones I have so turned out to be a lateral move for me. Pm me if ya want.

Pangea or signal cable magic power for new but with as much used stuff on the form, you might be able to get a better cable used and broken in already for close to the same price.

Just a FYI, Endershadow has contacted me already about the Tara Labs power cord. Just want to set the record straight here in case the OP mentions something in this thread.

Yup, to continue on that ideal, I discovered the powercable I thought would work for my M1.0t isnt long enough and I have been kicking myself in the rear for passing on the Tara Labs one the first time.

A Club Polk forum member that makes power cords and interconnects and sales them. He will make custom make them to certain lengths using whatever connectors you want...
