Last night after a quick exchange with Kevin I got a really heavy weight on my conscience that said something is definitely wrong. My wife and I discussed, being in the market, how a fellow could justify acquiring a set of speaks from a gent that has stated "not in a hurry" when a set of the same...close enough in this case....could really help a guy out. I have not figured a way to make the drive and unfortunately do not see it as a possibility. What I do see as a possibility is a group of folks responding to a good bye post that has wrenched my heart since I got up this morning.

I will not take advantage of a fellow's hardship by buying at a discounted rate an item that very well could be a source for relaxation and recuperation. I will however like to suggest those that care most join me in assisting our valued friend in any way we can. Mods please don't close his account. He might need it in the future

Pm's being sent. Stay tuned.

A fund in the name of Zardoss is being established with the intent to show our support and allow Kevin to keep his 2.3tl's or at least not have to sell them for peanuts. Donations can be sent via check or money order or via paypal. I will collect the funds in my Paypal Business account until I can verify a new account for Kevin through PP. I will not publish names of donors nor will there be any association between donation and screen names by me.

If you want to be public that's great! Screen names info and amounts will not be divulged by me to anyone. Any amounts are welcome and would be graciously received.

This guy is hurting. I can feel it. If we can justify spending thousands on a new amp or capacitors we can darn sure pitch in a buck or two to help a valued friend and participant of our forum. If you wish to donate privately please PM me for PP addy and/ or local address. I will provide weekly totals for our donations in this tread. I would like to send Kev a check next Friday. Thanks for the thought's and support. I know he will appreciate it.

Dorokusai headed up a collection once before, he knows how to administer one and, he's bad to the bone and didn't mind having his address displayed, IIRC. Maybe check in with him ?

You could put it in a for sale thread. At least then it would be limited to those with 100 posts.

He was holding a "fire sale" at a lowball price on his SRS2.3tls to pay for medical tests that his insurance wouldn't cover, IMO, that's need.

Fair enough, posting that kind of info or a link to that in a thread like this is often helpful.

I am not sure how personal to be but suffice it to say medical bills/bankruptcy are on the horizon. I know we can't solve the worlds problems but I woke up this morning with a need to do what I can. I hope, if nothing else, this action can show him that there are still good and selfless people in this world that are willing to give a hand. Whether you want to/can donate or just give words of encouragement, it all matters. Personally, I feel with all the coin I spend on my hobby I can surely send a little his way in hopes it make his life that much more bearable in time of hardship.

I have not. I sent a correspondence via CL but have not heard back. Thanks for the kind words Larry but Kevin's participation is what has rocked for the last five years.

In addition to my opening balance on the Paypal I will match another 10% of the total donation with a minimum of $50 bucks. Anyone care to one up me on that?

Guys this is probably the nicest thing anyone had done for me, but I don't know for sure exactly what I am dealing with yet. Since everyone here did this you at least deserve the story. On January 1st my wife felt a lump on her breast and while this has nothing to do with my current situation it attributes to our current situation. She went to the doctor and they said it was nothing but she should come back for a mammogram. She did and they found something that needed to get a biopsy so that had us on pins and needles for two weeks. they did the biopsy and the next day the lab called and said it was benign, so we went out that evening to celebrate and latter on after I went to bed I started having real bad pains in my back and stomach. finally at midnight I had had enough and we went to the emergency room. They did they're batch of tests and figured out I must have a kidney stone. They did a CT scan to confirm that it was indeed a kidney stone. Also the CT scan reveled a 1.6 cm exophytic left renal lesion that could be a hyperdense cyst and going by some of my other symptoms I have had for years it could be RCC Renal Cell Carcinoma or cancer and I have to follow up with a urologist tomorrow. They wont do anything without money up front and tell me I could be looking at surgery. I am sure I will probably not know anything tomorrow either, just take my temp and blood pressure and charge me $200 and schedule a ultrasound.
So when I started to try and sell things, originally to pay for my wifes bills that the insurance will not cover, and everyone was low-balling me on Craigslist it got beyond aggravating. My wife and have been struggling financially for a while and just can not get ahead when we get some money saved something always comes up that takes it all and a little more. Now we have the bills coming in on my wife and we don't have the money to pay those let alone the money to pay for my testing. I have never felt so helpless in my life. I am the kind of guy that is used to taking care of myself and does not like to ask for handouts.

I really do appreciate this and all your compassion but for now lets please wait until I find out more.

What a modest and humble gentleman. Sometimes it seems in times of peril we find ourselves clinging to the things we know. In this case I see a strong and independent couple relying on what they know, their sovereign ability to take on anything that comes their way. It is these displays of strength that really convey how fragile we can be. The ball is rolling my good man! Please know that you have many friends on your side and those friends are here to help.

Kevin this is the best reason NOT to remove yourself from our Polk Family. This place is a great place for support and you just may need some weather it be monetary or just being able to reach out to the world.
