Well not sure i "need" the RTi12's that much..the furnace..i do. they were not the right speaker choice for what i wanted...but at this point, may pay for some of the furnace...LOL

If i can sell them at all..which maybe, down here....not likely.....

I think what tophatjohnny meant to say was, "Everytime I spend money on speakers, my wife says I'm putting money in the furnace... as in burning money".

Believe what you want, they are 6 ohm nominal.
Also page 26 of the SDA Handbook states Polk raised the imp from 6 to 8 ohms.

Pick something else to argue with Jesse about. Try "The economic impact of drugs from Bolivia to America", You might have a chance on that topic LOL

if you want to sell you rti12s on CL. I think the realistic price is around 450. I bought mine for 400 and regularly see them for 450. sometimes A9s for 500 bucks too.

but if you want to go big, why not hunt for the SRT system?

I knew that was a good deal on yesterday's local craigs; a pair of rti12's and a 7.1 jvc ht receiver for $199. I might have to take a look and see if they're still there.

The furnace is a really old gas unit. The burner box has just finally rusted to the point it has holes in it. Which is unfix-able and dangerous at this point. So the whole unit needs to be replaced.

To sell the 12's for 400, just doesn't seem worth it. Just because i don't like them, as compared to the SDA's doesn't mean there bad speakers. Guess i'll end up moving them upstairs, let the wife use them for her music, or stick them on the TV.

My 1.2 TL's are on the 8 ohm taps of my tube amp. Should they be on the 4 ohm taps instead?

Anyone know the answer to this?

Is this to say that you would use the next higher impedance if the exact one was not available? That is use 4 ohm for 3 ohm nominal and 8 ohm for 6 and so on?

The last series, the TL's, were made to make the the amp see as much of a 8 ohm load as possible, thus being easier to drive with out needing special lower impedance equipment. They were not true 8 ohm speakers in the sense of the word. All speakers exhibit an impedance curve just like they have high and low spots in there frequency response. But yes you go up not down use 4 for a 3 and 8 for a 6 but you use 6 for 6 if you have it of course.

If you need a new furnace buy one online and install it yourself. Ingrams water and air is one company. The 2.3tl is the best in my opinion, the set in Colorado is a steal.

LMAO..well i know where to get the cheap price for the furnace, and whatever else.

Yes i could install it..if i was 40. Not like i don't know how to install it. But i'm 60 with a bad back.

Which means if i pick up a case of 24 bottles of water the wrong way..my back goes out.

The sad part of this is i just can't do what i used to...so i have to pay people to do it.

Believe me..not what i want..and i know i could get this done for 1K easy....but not going to happen
