I'm not supposed to eat popcorn anymore as the hulls get stuck in my diver or my ticker or my itus...but when I do it's a tall gas flame under a large iron kettle with a little corn oil in the bottom then some fresh corn straight from the FREEZER with a little sauce pan on the side with the butter ready to go...and the salt goes in the kettle with the oil.

You'll double the power output going with 18/1. That way it has to use all the power going into it thus doubling output.

    Anyone else like EMO girls?:twisted::cheesygrin:
Ahh Ok so the 18/1 won't sound thin with restricted dynamics?

I don't always pop my popcorn in the microwave, but when I do, I prefer to reduce the suggested time. Stay salty, my friends.

what i find to be the case is that most questions i have can be searched and the same questions not be revisited.. so no need to post and on the other side i'm not experienced enough to answer questions coming in.

Since these threads always bring out the response of "Popcorn.", why don't we debate the merits of that (popcorn that is) ?
I am sure it would degrade quickly, microwave versus hot air etc.........

Good idea. But let's not forget the merits of a good black paint either. And just where the best places are to find it!

Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. We need a like button. Hey Ken, can you ask some one if we can add a like button. Just something like a tag, but instead list who liked it. That way we could just hit like instead of having to hit reply with quote and typing something like .......+1. Sorry, just thinking out loud.

in all seriousness... is it that good? its pretty pricey, but honestly i have been out of the popcorn making trend for a while. my wife and i have a ton of equipment, and i have been really missing it lately. worth the money?

Taste in popcorn probably is as variable as taste in music and stereo components (esp. cables ), but in my IMHO Black Jewel is the best and is well worth the extra money.

I also prefer air popping with a nice addition of extra virgin olive oil and fine salt -- after popping, of course.

The latter preference in condiments may make my entire opinion suspect!

    Glad you liked it.

Who pioneered the genres "stadium house" and "ambient house? Who rocked with Sitar's? Who started the K Foundation and gave worst artist of the year award? Who left the music biz after winning an award? Who fired a machine gun loaded with blanks from the stage over the heads of the crowd at the 1992 British Phonographic Industry awards show? Who left a dead sheep with a note "I died for ewe..bon appetit" tied around its waist at the entrance to one of the awards post-ceremony parties? Who burnt one million pounds and filmed it?

Why it was King Boy D (Bill Drummond) and Rockman Rock (Jimmy Cauty), aka 2K, The JAMMs, The Timelords and The KLF! Anarchists! Fun stuff!..

Okay, everybody lie down on the floor and keep calm.....

I love popcorn so I took some advice from here and replaced the PC with a Pangea cord and oh my God I made Popcorn, only this time it cost me more $ to make the popcorn..
So then I tried it on my Deep Frier, first i made Chips with the factory PC and it took 8 min 20 sec to achieve fry heaven, then I switched to the Pangea and it took 8 min 17 sec to achieve fry heaven.
Then I tried a blind switch test with my buddy, he switched it up on me for both the popcorn and the Deep Frier and I'm sorry I could not pick out the factory PC or the Pangea...
My next set of blind tests will be using Shunyata PC compared to Nordost..for testing the Electric Kettle and my iPad Charger..

I think popping the corn on vacuum tubes would give the corn a more soft full flavored pop. Mosfits my give the pop more boom control, but the glow & warmth of Vac tubes would really do it for me. Not sure on the butter thing on my tubes though, have to figure that one out. Kt88s to melt the butter & 300bs to pop the corn, not sure?
