Rotel RMB-1095, overkill? How much should i pay?

I recently came across an opportunity to make an offer for a used Rotel RMB-1095 amp. From my research I have found that they sell new for around $2000, so I was thinking of making an offer of 1K. What do you guys think? Ideally I am looking for three numbers
1) a price number that is way too much
2) an average selling price
3) a number or below that would be a steal, can't pass up

Sounds like you have it figured out Chris. I have seen em go as low as 650 and as much as 1700 used, so your 1K offer is a good one, if you really want it?? Good luck

Waste of money imho, your speakers are easy to drive and you have a subwoofer supporting the bottom end. Put that coin into upgrading the speakers for best bang for your buck in SQ.

If you can grab that RMB-1095 for 1K...by all means snag it. You have to keep in mind that this is one crazy hobby & at some point you'll move on to other speakers. With the 1095 in the chain you don't have to worry about what speakers you pick up...the 1095 will have no problem powering them. Bottom line...there's no such thing as "Too much power".

Agreed at this point , better speakers would yield better results.

Also agree as the RMB1095 is a awesome amp and most likely the last one you'll ever need for speakers up to about 10k. Even then it still shines.
Price wise 1k is a great price. This amp holds it's value as amps don't really ever go bad. They last a very long time unless they get a voltage spike or to many brown outs. I can't stress enough about having good surge / voltage stabilization / line conditioning. Maybe look into the Panamax 5400 first , then move onto building the rest of your system.
I'd also suggest changing out the surround to matching polks or swap out the front 3 if you like the Klipsch sound better. Either way it's important to have the same brand and series speakers all the way around. I never mix and match speakers unless I absolutely have to due to placement issues , even then I don't wanna.

$1k for a 1095 is just a little high, IMO. I'd shoot for ~$800. But, for Monitor 60's? Nah, don't waste your money.

I bought mine for $900. I would start a bit lower and work your way up though...

^This. That's a terrific price for a Rotel 1095. It will drive your speakers now and in the future to their full potential which is the most important fact, not whether others think your current speakers are worth the upgrade of the amp. My 22 year old RTA-8Ts that I paid 600.00 for are being driven by a 5 channel 405wpc Sunfire amp and have never sounded better. Don't let others put false limitations on your gear. Try it out, my guess is you will never go back to just having a receiver drive your speakers.

I regretted I did not go for a rotel 1095 for $800 mint condition. instead go for Emo XPA-5 new for $769.

I think there is a 1095 in the FM for 950. But if I recall he is in south FLA

Get the amp, solid piece and you can ad a processor and speakers as they become available at reasonable prices.:arrowu:

Does anyone how is the Emo return policy? Thinking return my 2 weeks xpa-5 assume the Rotel 1095 for $800 still available. I will have to talk to the seller (I know he never list on sale which is a good sign) but would like to know the return policy from Emo.

It's a great amp. I still have mine but it sits on a rack doing nothing......Until another day when I have a bigger house.
