Polkies, I am putting out a feeler here as I will be in the process of selling my Parasound 5250 5 Channel amp very soon. I would like to try to sell it here first to a Polkie and would like it to be somewhat local so that I do not have to ship this beast at 85 ilbs. I purchased it from Pittsburg audio only 2 years ago. It has driven my Marting Logan fronts and center effortlessly suppling 375 watts/channel to all 5 channels. As some may know ML's can dip to 2-3ohms and this amp made them sing without a sweat. All I can say is that this a beautiful amp in mint condition. I have had several Carvers, Adcoms,Emotiva, but none in my opinion have come close to the Parasound amps I have had in detail and power. It has induced me to go to seperates.
The thing is that I do not know what they sell used for as I do not see this model come up for sale very often. Retailed for I think $2700.00. I searched online and found one on Audiophile Liquadators for $2146.00. I will offer it here for $975.00 plus shipping but would be willing to meet someone in the Chicago area. Check out the reviews for this amp as it is only a few years old and those in the hobby know the Parasound name so I will not try a sales pitch here.It does not need one. There are several stellar reviews online and I will stand behind and guarantee the guality of this amp.
I will supply pictures if I get interest here and I would prefer local sale but I would consider shipping. Again, this amp is in mint condition. Guys, those of you who have Lsi's , consider getting 375 watts/ch powered to your speakers with this amp to all 5 channels. 250watts/ch @ 8ohm and wonderful specs with it.It haves several auto triggers to turn on the amp remotely.. Again, this is Parasound qualty. If interested, Please Let me know!

975 plus shipping is a STEAL for this amp. If I had extra coinage around I would be soo all over this to replace both my Carver M1.0t and my AV-705x with it.

    GLWTS.

    Local folks, hop on this!

Guys, this is the original, not the V2. That being said I really do not know what differances there are. As far as weight I had this in my tv stand rack on glass shelves but every stand is differant so who knows.
I live in the northwest suburbs of Chicago in Hoffman estates. I will drive half way to meet if that is a option and depending how far it is.
I presently do not have it hooked up as I am planning to sell. Anyone who buys this you will love it and i will stand behind it 100%. I have Martin Logan Aeons and a ML motiff center. I sometime like to play my music loud and man did these drive my ML's nicely without a sweat.
I really want to have it be local as I don't like to ship these heavy monsters around as I do not have the original box. That said, I believe if I have to I will package it properly.
Pictures coming soon! Hopefully tonight !

Dekuda - I've pretty interested, but I don't think I called first dibs... I think Mufsoman expressed interested before me. I live in Naperville/Aurora.

EDIT: If anyone can find the differences between Original vs v.2 - please do share.

Unlike its predecessor, which had fixed gain at the THX reference level, the NewClassic 5250 v.2 allows independent +/- 10 dB gain adjustment for each channel relative to the THX level. This allows home theater systems to reach higher SPLs in very large rooms or when using less sensitive speakers. Plus, it gives custom installers greater control over fine-tuning of the system, especially when connected to an AV receiver. Additionally, the NewClassic 5250 v.2 has a new simplified and more effective audio turn-on trigger that eliminates the need for a separate sensitivity control. Also eliminated is the ground-lift switch, which has been rendered unnecessary by a new internal grounding scheme

I find the auto turn on very nice. Amp turns on right away when signal is fed.You can also use 12v trigger. As far as the volume level for each channel I always used them on my previous amps cranked all the way up as THX recommends and so do several amp manufacturers. I never touched them and always used my receiver or preamp setup menu to adjust volume for each channel so really never had a use for them in my other amps. To me, I prefer not to have them as they are pots and contacts can go bad. Just my 2 cents !

If you are not happy with this wonderful amp I will take it back. Say 45 day return? As long as you do not drop it or something I am pretty flexible. I am having a little remorse as I type. So I am ready to sell but I am also not in any rush
