This is one dead sexy attenuator:

Anybody heard of these? Looking for a steeped attenuator for a preamp I built, doesn't have to be this expensive.

I've seen those too, and gave them consideration as they look fantastic. You would benefit from having a plexiglass front preamp to show it off. They're not cheap, but there are also a lot more expensive volume controls.

I'd love to see a cross section/internals view but, they're probably way too expensive to destroy for illustrative purposes !!!

Meh, ended up with one not quite as alluring. Still a stepped attenuator, picked it up from a guy in Hong Kong. Here's a link. It did have some positive mentions on the internet, however, and at $18 it's about a tenth of the one from Parts Connexion!Wristwatch--->Crisco

yeah... but I think for best results one is better off with a transformer/autoformer volume control.

(and, frankly, how it sounds is more important to me than what it looks like - YMMV, of course)/ -
Form definitely follows function. Both of which, though, are behind price. That autoformer would be out of my price range too, unfortunately.Wristwatch--->Crisco

How sad is one's life if you think an electronics part is sexy?
Now this, on the other hand, is sexy.....................

Amen brother you said it. Although I would prefer just a tad bit bigger hooters.

I just emailed the seller of the khozmo in Warsaw as he offers a remote controlled version as a passive preamp which looks interesting.
