PSW111 or PSW505

I can get my hands on a used PSW111 for $130 or a used PSW505 for $150. Do these sound like good deals? Which would be a better choice? I will be hooking it up to an Integra DTR30.3 with RTi25s and a CSi3 up front and New Advents for surrounds. I will be using more for music then for HT.

PSW111 hands-down for music as it's real quick and digs deep enough for music. The PSW505 is a HT specific subwoofer and sounds a bit fat and loose when pushed to the limit. The PSW111 should be a pretty seamless transition with your RTi25 whereas the PSW505 will just be big bass.
For music? It will add more punch and low end rumble but I prefer a faster subwoofer for music, something punchy and tight which the PSW505 is not. Just my observation and it's your money and needs that may not reflect mine.
Good luck. Let us know what you choose.
MarkCTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
If you do go the 505 route, you might as well wait for Newegg to drop their price to $200 (shipped) again, which they do on a semi-regular basis. That extra $50 gets you NEW over used and a full 5-year warranty from Polk.

These have been my observations as well. I don't even use it for a lot of bassier heavy techno stuff like Daft Punk because it's too damn sluggish. And the A9's do fine on their own.
Is a decent rumbler for HT, but even then with too much volume it looses punch quickly.Up

hanks for the advise Teekay. I checked Newegg and the PSW111 was on sale for $149 with free shipping! The next day it was back to $299. I think maybe the person updating the website for Columbus day made a mistake and I was there at the right time.
I've had it for a couple weeks now and I like it. Since I added the sub I swapped out the advents with an old pair of paradigms bookshelves I had in zone 2. HT sounds really good, but I'm still tweaking the music. Audyssey is by no mean perfect.
One thing I noticed is the picture on newegg shows a separate LPE in,but the one I received does not have a separate LPE in. Is the separate LPE something that was recently added or something recently removed? Is this something to be concerned about?HT- Samsung PN50B860/Integra DTR 30.3/Rt55 Fronts
