This upgrade is terrible. It is impossible to type. The response is terrible. Scrolling the screen goes white instead of smoothly going by. I am going to have to use my laptop for posting, and the IPad for reading. apple stock should tank due to this POs. Even the magnifying glass is missing for trying to edit. Pos pos pos pos

I thought they weren't going to release it for that model.

I assume you have the original ipad? That thing is a dinosaur...

I'm in the middle of the update on my iPhone 4. I hope it doesn't screw it up too bad. I thought I would wait out the masses for the upgrade to the 5. $200
    for a 1/2 inch is pretty steep........

I have the latest model with max memory. It is a few months old. I am on my laptop now since the Ipad sucks so bad with IOS6. Time to get onto Apple and other blogs and let them know just how bad this thing is.

As you type other bizzare key options appear. Unbelievable. No testing at all done for this release. Jobs is turning in his grave.

Something is wrong. I upgraded to iOS 6 on my iPad (latest model) and it's perfect. Not experiencing anything that you're describing. Have it on my iPhone 4 and its just fine there too. Do a backup, then do a full factory refresh. Then restore from the backup.

Same here, I love the update for my 4s and iPad. Sorry you're having issues but i'd try a reset first too, it's really better.

Okay. I did the reset and that fixed the bizarre keyboard operation. Now I cannot login to Yahoo, but on the laptop it is fine. Apple really fracked up with this release. There are more issues here than just Maps.

Man-o-man. What a nightmare. I went into Safari and deleted all cookies, history, and web data. Now I can log into Yahoo. Hopefully, I am back to where I was before upgrading. The funny part is my IPad is about as close to stock as you can get. I have added 2-3 apps, and bought one book. Yet, the upgrade went all fubar. I guess that is why I have always been a great QA engineer. All this wierd stuff happens to me.

Mine is good with the iPhone 4. The only issue is iTunes won't seem to let me move app icons within its program. No biggie though. I am thankful that the OS upgrades don't kill the earlier hardware versions as often and a Windows upgrade does on my PC. With Windows, each OS seems to take a new PC.

My iPod Touch 4G seems to work OK. It does seem a little slower but nothing bad. The worst thing however is iTunes. Did the backup and restore but for some reason it didn't restore my music - all 3700+ songs. After messing with it a while it finally "found" the songs from my NAS. Then 3 hours later to resync all the songs. How stupid that it would have to delete all of them and then put them back on.

    I hate iTunes.

I reset the iPad yesterday and it worked fine for a while. Now the same problem is back. Trying to scroll up or down on a thread is slow and causes the screen to go blank, and then it catches up. Nowhere near as smooth as when it correctly works. The worst part is trying to reply to a post. You need to tap and tap before the keyboard pops up. Then the keypad is FUBAR. It constantly switches between upper and lower case. There is a few second delay before a character appears in the test box, and weird keys appear when a key is pressed.

Interestingly, this only happens on this site. So far other sites are okay.

IOS 6 is a piece of junk.

Have you set the style for this site as widescreen. I used to get weird behavior with iDevices before doing that.

That seems to have made a difference. Why that would affect the keyboard working is unclear. I just went and posted on stereophile forum, and it was okay. Thanks for the tip. Hope it keeps working for more than a day.

I've had it on my iPad from the day it was launched and its been perfectly fine. I put it on my iPhone yesterday and also zero issues.

However, my iPhone still refuses to find my home wifi... It will find any other wifi network, JUST not my home wifi. My iPad finds it fine, same with my wife's iPhone. Just to be clear, my iPhone did not find it before the update as well.

Bug fixes, better performance, new default apps, Siri, and just stay current. It has been working okay, after reseting, and going to wide-screen mode. But it was really FUBAR for a while last Friday.

I was on iOS 4.2. Some games needed a higher version so I upgraded. I haven't noticed better performance on my iPod Touch 4. It seems *slightly* slower actually. I tried to add YouTube from the AppStore today and the AppStore app crashed like 5 times. I rebooted the device and finally got it to work. Not sure why exactly. My device was jailbroken so I lost some functionality (no for pirating). Can no longer link my Bluetooth GPS device.

why not try Chrome on your ipad? I downloaded it to mine and it handles things much, much better than Safari.

Haven't upgraded to 6 yet.. will wait for a bit.. let others figure out the bugs.

A co-worker sent me the link. It's quite hilarious to me, so yep, I got to post it here  Frankly I couldn't care less about any iPhone/iPad/iPod or Android device since my phone is a Blackberry and my current laptop is a Dell ultrabook, both provided by my company, and they serve me adequately. I'm glad I don't have to spend my money on those devices, so more dough for me to buy audio/video stuff
