Was curious if anyone had ideas on repairing the vinyl on the front baffle of an SDA 3.1TL? I looked a bit on the forums to find any ideas... didnt find much detail. The one I need to fix is torn on the front right edge near the top. Its covered by the grill yes, but it still bothers me.

As always, any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

If it is indeed vinyl I dont know of any way you could repair this without removing large sections of it or just replacing all of the vinyl..

It is not to hard to remove it all, take a heat gun and start on a corner and slowly make your way across the wood, small section at a time. On that same note vinyl is very inexpensive so it would be cheap to replace it entirely. If you wanted to go fancy, wood veneer is an option! :)

Depending on how bad the tear is it might be as simple as regluing it. A picture of the tear would help.

You could try some Aleene's tacky glue, apply it sparingly. Solvent type glues will most likely ruin the vinyl. If you want to replace the entire front, Parts Express sells a Textured Black Vinyl : http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=261-618
Looks pretty close. I'm in the proccess of building a cutom pair of Monitor 7s, and plan on using some Bronco Grain Tolex on the front baffle.
