That system hasnt got implemented yet. Notice their isnt a forum member name to PM. I also am not on that list and have about 5-10 transactions on the forum.

I'm not worried I was just curious.. actually I don't really care but I can see where it would help a new member feel more comfortable in buying from someone here..

Also I noticed that I can't view posts in the for sale section because it says I need to have at least 100 posts! Boourns.

It is literally blocking you from seeing ads? I find that hard to believe as someone with only 10 posts just bought an amp in the flea market...

Yep, just as of this morning. Was able to view them last night, but when I try today it takes me to a page stating: "To view this thread or threads in this forum your post count must be 100 or greater. Your post count is 56 momentarily."

I experienced the same phenomenon this morning while trying to view threads for sales of Larry's rings and AL 1000VA inductors for Dreadnoughts. As a newbie with ~30 posts, I find this troublesome because I have found the various "sale" ads -- Larry's rings, AL inductors, VR3 Mods -- very helpful as I try to upgrade the performance of my SDA SRSs and SDA 1Cs. I agree with wattmeworry's post above that it makes sense to restrict those selling items to a larger number of posts, but it makes no sense to restrict those wanting to buy items -- the seller can ensure that the buyer is legitimate.

    Can this restriction be modified?

Hey Mods what's the reasoning behind this?

Doesn’t make any sense at all.

I would say cheers but it doesn’t make me happy as I’ve pick up a lot of my gear from the FM.

Now for me it's not a huge deal as I'm only a few post away. But what about for the Seller? I've noticed that's lots of newbies (me) buy off the FM. So why punish us and them?

I also understand that it's Polk's forum but to know the reasoning would help.

Me too, of course the Sales Rating System had been broke for sometime when I joined not that it really matters but than again both of us would most likely have a fairly hi number if most of the members that we've sold to had the ability to leave a rating. I don't know about anybody else but I would have liked to have been able to leave you and everybody else I bought thing's from here hi rating.

As a newbie with close to a 1000 post count I agree, It doesn't make sense to block new members from viewing and posting interest in a for sale thread or being able to start a "Wanted To Buy" thread, After all being able to start a thread in the WTB section was part of the reason I joined Club Polk as I was looking for an original MW6511 for my SDA 1C's. BTW you'll get this same error if your not logged in which kinda sucks because sometimes I like to just quickly check a for sale or wanted to buy thread with out logging in.

I'm sure it's just a programming error and will get straitened out. I think what there trying to do is implement the "100 post" rule in software i.e. Making it so if you don't have a 100 post you can't start a for sale thread. I think they have it tied to the wrong section of the code, It should be tied to the "+Post a New Thread" button in the "For Sale" section. To be honest I'm surprised that it's taken this long as it would make life easier on the mod's not having to check all the new threads all the time and remove the ones that shouldn't be there.

I agree I have hit up(PM) Patrick and Mark about this as just viewing there should be no restrictions Mark(Doro) had no idea about it. Patrick has yet to respond....
I think it's silly to have to sign in just to view as most of us can't do that(sign in) at work.

I've just observed the same thing, I can't read any threads in the for sale forum either. It seems that I will have up up my post count to keep buying vinyl from George, I guess 100 posts is not too much to ask...

However, I have never posted much in any of the forums I've participated. In this one, I've been reading for over 10 years and sometimes posting. I guess one of the reasons I don't post much is because I do not like to be involved in those heated discussions that seem to happen without much of a notice.

I hope you were not referring to me  . My meaningless (or otherwise) post rate is so low that I doubt anyone could be bothered!

I was around when all you needed was 15 posts to sell. Since I was not here to sell it did not bothered me when it was changed to 100. But I could still buy, which I didn't. Until I started buying from George last year. Now it appears I can't do that anymore, so that bothers me a little.

I will now quietly go away and find 49 intelligent things to say.

Thankfully, it would probably be easier to start a thread for members who have not been the easiest to deal with. Not trashy, just about what happened. Then the member would have an opportunity to defend him/herself, for all to see!

Yeah, I noticed the 100 post thing today as I tried to sneak a peak without logging in.

It doesn't make any sense to me either but that's not my decision.

The best we can do is start something online/offline which is a thread I have started and I'll start tallying that after Polkfest. I had planned to do it prior but was waiting on some forum changes to occur.

As far as a running number beside your name or feature going forward? Never going to happen. As far as what happened to your numbers accumulated after much hard work over the years? Also, never going to happen and I'm as upset as you are....frankly I'm pissed about it.

All we can do is have a user driven thread which I will update and keep updated monthly. Just stay tuned and send all hatred and vitriol to PatrickC.

I just spoke with our leader and the sales feedback issue is temporary but we may not recover everyone and everything.....this is expected and unexpected from the upgrade. It is what it is and going forward, we will get something in place that's as useful and like what forum member Shack started a long time ago. Is that ok?

We're really trying to accommodate everyone here guys and gals, so just work with us for now. Or take a hike....tongue in cheek but really, since this system was just an attempt to give some assurance, like eBay, but it's no reality based number folks. Buyer beware and due diligence is always encouraged.

We historically have the BEST Flea Market on the internet, hands down. I've personally been a sales leader, proponent of and advocate of it since 2003. The changes going on right now are strange, I get it but just hang out and we'll get everything back inline....just like or somewhat close to that you have known for years. I'm not doing back flips over it either but I have confidence in the folks running what we call Club Polk and that's all I need....stay with me.

At minimum, a warning would have been helpful.

I hope the current policy is not going to be a long term policy. Just about every forum I have a tendency to lurk and not post. If I am going to post something I have to be sure it is accurate and I am not knowledgeable enough to be sure 100% of the time so I read and move on :).

I have no objection to 100 post policy before you are allowed to post a for sale ad.
