Well, I dove into the plasma realm this evening and ordered a 50" Panasonic GT50. After getting ahold of the remote at the store and playing with some setttings I was sold. It seemed like everytime I went to the store it was set to Standard mode, not real impressive. THX Cinema is where it's at!!! I must've even turned my wife away from LED, especially since she gave the go-ahead. Come on Aug 18th!!!!
I'd be interested in anyones thoughts or setup hints that work for you, if you have any.

    I bought the GT65 a little over a month ago and the THX modes are where it is at! The picture quality is phenominal. If you are going to wall mount and run cables behind the wall I would go to Monoprice to order what you need. You will save a ton of dough and the quality is great. Other than that, congrats and sit back and enjoy!

    I moved from a 56" Panasonic DLP to a 60" ST30 in May of this year and haven't looked back. No real setup tips because its pretty easy lol. I would suggest checking for a firmware update via ethernet and then just leave it connected for that too. I messed with a couple settings and turn off some of the enhancements but I forget what they are.

    Just go through the menu and disable anything that adds to the source image and you should be fine.

    You will enjoy it for sure. I know I LOVE mine :biggrin:

    Check out the AVS Forum and look for "Dnice" he has breakin and custom setups for these. I have a 55VT30 and went thru the steps he laid out for calibration and the set looks fantastic! He is a calibrator and helps out people with Plasmas over there.

    Picked up th ST 65" Panny plasma this spring and could not be happier. Look up the burn in procedure and proper settings (By Dnice) and I think you will be very pleased.
