SDA-2A crossovers for ~75 shipped with best offer. They've been on for a while.

    8es21lwfoaw4.jpg

Would be great for a 2A owner who wants do crossover work at their own slow pace while listening to their stock xovers.

🤔Do I need a third set to compare modded to stock?

The LF14 bass speaker is indeed very rare. Price is very fair given the Polk Monitor 4's with Peerless tweeters will bring close to half that. If these were near me I'd buy them. I have the same Monitor 4's with Peerless, not a bad speaker, but not as good as the Monitor 5 of the same line.

My 7B's sound great with a subwoofer that goes as low as the LF14 or lower. What I'm not clear on is how Polk blended the LF14 with the Monitor 4's used as sattellites. The manual didn't make it clear

^^^^^ is your sub powered. With the 7's ? I use to have a Velodyne sub That was non powered. Ok for what it was.... That very speaker has been talked about many times here. Very interesting vintage Polks. Iirc someone had & was using 2 of them here on forum. Maybe they will chime in

Ok. I'm rambling on here. I had a Sansui g2000 or something like that. One with the big volume knob in middle. 20wpc & I hooked it to a pair of Polk Monitor 5a with peerless tweeters. Wow what a match in heaven. Bet that sub woulda made that perfect

Okay, that makes sense. At first I thought Polk had gone crazy with speaker design. :)

Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes

Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables

Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
    Three 20 amp circuits.

Yes. I know it sounds like it should be a disaster but somehow with my small room acoustics and a couple openings to other rooms it's magic with the gain around 4 and the crossover at 80 Hz . I don't have a calibrated mic or the equipment to test the frequency response but to my ears it is totally dialed in.

The LF14 must have a low pass filter in it for 200 Hz and below. The way Polk says to hook up the system, the Monitor 4 would be certainly sharing quite a bit of signal with the MW in the LF14 in the region of 50 to 200 Hz.

I'll say! When you zoom in it even looks like a polypropylene cone on those 2 hack job ones.

He's selling his 3.1tl mutations for $800. A steep price for a parting out project.

This set was listed on OfferUp for $60 last week by someone else in the same general area, this guy is flipping them I think. Good for him I guess.

Either that or he pulled the ad and raised his price. Both ads are consistent in mentioning the LF14 but seemingly ignorant about the fact that the other speakers are Monitor 4’s, I had to do some research to figure out what he was selling and Google led me to some mediocre impressions of the LF14 on this very site so I didn’t bother to pursue. Should have known the sheer novelty would arouse interest here!

I've contacted the seller and he's willing to take 900 dollars for them. I'm contemplating taking a flight out to Houston and then a long drive back to California. :#

Take a look at uShip. That's how I got my SDA SRS 1.2s from the Houston area. Picked up and delivered quickly without any issues.

That's certainly a very tempting price. Might get a quote from a Freighter & Crater Company on shipping them.

Opps, didn't see the previous post. ;)
