Hoping some of you fequent modders can chime in here. I will be re-capping my B&K ref200.2 soon. What is a good brand/series of capacitors to replace the current electrolytics? Should I use something a little fanicier for the bypass caps at the O/P??
Thanks

Look at Panasonic FG's for power supply caps.

I use in my diy amps just Mundorf audio grade 125c from Partsconnexion.com. They are some of the best I have ever try( I have try many).

Elna Simlic II's are good as well as Nichicon Fine Golds. Face And H9 both have some good ones listed. My 2 would be more for the signal path.

Elna Silmic II's are my choice for signal path and I think I said Panasonic FG's when I meant Panansonic FC's for power supply caps. Nichicon FG's (Fine Gold) are good for signal path as well.

for most of the 100uf caps they are in parallel with 0.12uf. Should I use a different type of cap for the smaller values, or lyrics all the way??
Thanks for the input so far.

Mundorf M-lytic AG are fantastic power supply caps.

The 0.12uF is a bypass/decoupling cap and will probably be a polyester or polypropylene film. They are there to improve the performance of the power supply under highly transient loads. If you would want to replace them too, do not replace them with electrolytics. Some good film caps can be had from Dayton Audio, Solen, Mundorf, etc. There is a very long list of manufacturers for them, and they are relatively cheap for a value that small. Don't go for anything flashy - it's only a power supply.

As for the original question, I tend to prefer Nichicon for PSU caps, but Panasonic are also very good. I think heiney9 covered it pretty well.

I'm curious why you would want to recap a 200.2? It's one badass powerful very dynamic non lacking in the cap section amp!
