There are many reasons that there is climate change on our planet....but anyone who believes the the actions of humans have had no impact on the change....is a fool. To what degree is open to debate.

I don't think anyone is saying "no" impact Shack, just not the extreme we are led to believe. To what degree ? Lets have that debate, but it seems nobody is interested in that debate as it has already been decided, true ?

Logical people will always dismiss extreme's on either side of a debate.....except this one.

Didn't the earth move off its axis from the earthquake in Japan? I thought they (who ever that was) said it did.
    From NASA;
The 9.0 magnitude earthquake that ravaged Japan also shortened Earth's day by just over one-millionth of a second (1.8 microseconds to be exact), according to NASA. It also shifted the Earth's axis by about 6.5 inches.

By changing the distribution of the planet's mass, the quake likely caused the Earth to spin a tiny bit faster, says research scientist Richard Gross of NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., thus shortening the time the planet takes to rotate each day.

The quake also shifted the position of the Earth's "figure" axis (which is different from the planet's north-south axis). This shift in Earth's figure axis will cause Earth to wobble a bit differently as it rotates, but it won't cause a shift of the Earth's axis in space -- only external forces such as the gravitational attraction of the sun, moon and planets could do that.

Gross says a change in Earth's mass and rotation isn't cause for alarm, and isn't unusual:

"Earth's rotation changes all the time as a result of not only earthquakes, but also the much larger effects of changes in atmospheric winds and oceanic currents," he says. "Over the course of a year, the length of the day increases and decreases by about a millisecond, or about 550 times larger than the change caused by the Japanese earthquake.

"The position of Earth's figure axis also changes all the time, by about 3.3 feet over the course of a year, or about six times more than the change that should have been caused by the Japan quake."

It's 95 deg F here but it feels like 110. I went Mountain Bike riding Yesterday morning. I rode 8 miles hard. I was doing 4 minute miles on average. I drank a 12 oz coffee before , 20 oz Vitamin water during , 16 oz water afterwards. I was killed from the ride and more so from the heat.
Today I went riding and today was going to be a distance ride with a slow burn between 12 and 14 mile per hr. Goal ride was 30 miles. I ended up doing 15 miles and I'm murdered tired. Same fluid intake as yesterday.
I just got home and I'm eating a healthy lunch of Chicken Breast , tomato and avocado on Whole wear bread with NY Deli Mustard. It's so hot outside I don't even really want to eat and I'm starving from my ride.

I fully hate the heat as I think it's worse then freezing cold which I hate as well. I think a move to LA is in order in the near future.

Been skipping my riding of late. Just too damn hot! Allergies tearing me apart as well. Bought a Cycleops trainer for winter indoor training, but may have to think about getting some miles on it to keep from getting stale.
    No excuses!

I guess that increased solar activity has absolutley zero to do with temperatures and weather paterns here on earth. Only a creature as arrogant as man could assume that he has the power to alter the climate of something as vast as a planet. Pretty soon we will possess the power of the Death Star or Red Matter, or even the Genesis Device. Manmade global warming is as much scienc fiction as anything that has come from Hollywood.

Global warming is all about political control and shifting economic power and profits. Climate change is about science and the balance of the natural climate cycles with how we as the human race can understand and lessen our impact on the world we live in.

Very good Doug, most don't get the difference or at best confuse the 2.

I'm doing my part to conserve energy, in this heat wave I can fry my eggs on the driveway, no gas needed. Just haven't figured out how to get that asphalt after taste out of them yet. Maybe some hot sauce would do it.

    You need one of these:

Just put it in the sun on some of that black asphalt for a while. Some canola oil and get to frying.

Ok... we can bake cookies on the dashboard, and fry an egg on a driveway. The real trick is making Ice Cream (without electricity)in the sauna that is most people's living rooms about now. If you can crack that nut, you'll make billions.

Don't be f^$kin' with my ice cream John. I get cranky real easy.

Matter of fact, you could use a cone or 2 yourself. Ever see anyone frown eating ice cream ? Ice cream always puts you in a good mood. Think I'll go attack the Ben & Jerry's in the fridge right now.

The wife always makes fun of me for hiding the good ice cream from the grandkids. It usually goes something like this.

Hey Hon, where's the Cold Stone ice cream I just bought ?

    Uh...I think I ate it.

B.S.....I just bought it yesterday. You didn't.....are you hiding ice cream from the kids ?

Well, give them the Jewel crap, not the expensive stuff. There kids, they'll never know.

Honey, it's just frickin' ice cream for Pete's sake.

Well, would you give them a 5$ pre-packaged steak from Jewel, or a Gibsons steak in the fridge ?

    Usually ends with,

Get the f$#k out of my way and shut up.

Now that I think about it, fiberglass tires are up her alley next time.
