I do have to laugh at you that feel this has 'turned on me' because of what you guys have posted.

Faster, you're the one that specifically brought up that your posts weren't being responded and you weren't surprised blah blah blah. This isn't me policing, but rather point out, that you HAVE said that before, and there have been times that you get totally bent about it. If you bring it up, and I comment on it, (help me here) I'M the one that's the badguy for making the point? I used the term "**** List" (my phrase, not yours) because that IS what you've described on several occasions as to peoples reactions to you and your posts. For my comment (mostly in jest) to be perceived wrong, you never could have made your comments........but you have.

To be totally honest, I couldn't care less if y'all like what I post or not. I wasn't really looking for kudo's, nor was I looking to get grilled for putting my irritation out there. This thread was ultimately to point out somethign that bothered me with regard to Sid. Saying the same thing to him in a post in a thread is about useless, so this is a different route. If it offended people, so be it, but rather than me just play like I'm interested (or entertained) in reading a duplicate 150 comment that I've read before by Sid, I opted to point out that it's been overdone. This is apparently were the 'turning' thing comes in. **** about me all y'all want.....****......even start your own thread about how everyone hates me. It's no sweat off my back....

What I find most humerous is that (if it's true) there are so many that "just arent all saying" (according to Faster) they don't like me. This is apparently were the 'turning' thing comes in. Let me take this opportunity to invite all of those closeted Brett haters to speak up and **** to your hearts content.

One last thing that I'd like to offer up here........if you wanna **** about what my posts are, make sure that you're not flaming me for saying what you're thinking......

As far as I know.. Brett you have never said whether your poll was a "joke" or was it to be taken seriously because of your frustration with Sid. You my friend are the one who started this whole firestorm. I know you're man enough to take your lumps and well as dish em out. Maybe in the future you and everyone else can take their unhappyness with someone on here to their own emails and leave us out of it.

I personally would rather talk about music, new gear, tube amps, food, beer. ha ha ha. anything but personal attacks on another person.

I'm not going to stand up for Sid... if he's willing to hang out in here.. he'll have to take his lumps with the rest of us. An age limit of 18 would be nice.. but I think it's to late for that now. Maybe for next year.. this should be an over 18 old forum.

I have read every bit of this, and I certainly have my own thoughts about alot of this like others here. The starting of this thread in my opinion, was not an attack on Sid by brett, merely trying to point out something that has been rampant since alot of us new polkies have came on board that have bought and enjoy a particular pair of speakers (we all know which they are) and have posted our own thoughts and opinions about them. Which seem to conflict with a few here (remaining unnamed by me). It seems everytime one of us who are enjoying the speakers (that the few who cannot seem to fathom why), posts about them, they feel a need to cast those speakers into kinda of redheaded step child status. Now, should I really give a crap what they think? As long as I enjoy them? My answer, Yes, I should care, otherwise, I wouldn't still be here reading all this ****. I've come to like it here, and value what alot of you have to say. If someone of you, constantly heard someone dog something you believe in, enjoyed, you would begin to feel, ( I would think you would atleast) that that person was being critical of you. It's kinda like someone calling you an idoit for buying what you bought.

Now, as for why this all got started, this all got started not by this:

The 70's/ 150's debate will die. It rose with the clearance sales and will fade with time and the establishment of the new line.

But because some of us happened to buy something alot of you believe was a mistake make by polk, in its design, and its execution. And as I have posted before, the ones that are the most negative about the redheaded step child speakers, are the ones who haven't even heard or tried them. Yet, over and over and over they want to make us who to happen to like them, seem inferior in our judgement of them. And it really does amaze me that this could be overlooked by anyone who reads the speaker section of this forum over the last two months or so.

The debate was not started because we bought these speakers, it was started because we happen to like something a few others don't and must endure their constant blah, blah, blah, blah.

I don't think brett has deserved the lashing out he has gotten here, I do however think he kinda flew off the handle a couple of times, but so have I, as I'm sure all of you have at times.

If Sid doesn't want to be criticized for his behavior, then he shouldn't behave the way he has. The first few times he spoke out against the redheaded step child speakers, I just thought he was voicing his opinion, but after about two months of it now, in every single post made about the speakers, you really have to wonder.

As for me, I don't know alot of what I would like to know about home audio, (another reason I like it here) but I want to learn more and more. I just don't need to read **** about my pisspoor judgement in buying my speakers. That doesn't teach me anything other than that there is the same ole smart___ people here as there is anywhere, which I already knew.

If any of you want to flame me for stating my stance in this, be my quest. But the truth is the truth. Some need to stop cutting down other peoples choice's every freakin chance they get.
I may be a 40 year old kid, but I've learned not to cut down what other people like.

Brett, you have made several of your personal attacks towards me! And i too stated the change i saw in you.. from cool on the board to an **** who calls names on a regular basis and makes people feel like ****, yeah brett's a good guy :rolleyes:

Faster, I'm not "afraid" of Russ. I know YOU have issues with him, but don't lump me and you in the same boat. I'm pretty smart and can figure out when he's jokin around. The **** issue isn't something that he's made negative comments about.....Trey has, so that's the difference on that. You VERY MUCH do care if people like you here (contrary to your comment in your most recent post), which is why you're CONSTANTLY bitching about people not praising you at every given moment. I may be one that nitpicks at stuff, but I'm not out that has to have everyone like me. Some apparently are a bit more needy than others......<<shrug>>

F1, I haven't ever said that EVERYthing that Sid posts is useless, thus blocking wouldn't accomplish anything. I just felt that this imparticular speaker issue had been overdone by him...and Terrax is correct for bringing up that to constantly berate a speaker, does in fact reflect negatively on them, especially the way that people have slammed them over the past little while. (I know I've said I don't personally like them, but that's not something I bring up in every post about the speakers)

Danger, this poll wasn't a joke. It was really to voice that I think Sid needs to stop slamming the speakers that he has done repetitively. I didn't verbalie it as eloquently as Terrax did, but the reality is that when one CONSTANTLY bashes on speakers that someone has purchased, over time, it's coming off as judging them to be of some form of lesser intelligence. Terrax put it into much better words, but in my experience and observations of Sid, he doesn't get subdued messages.

Personally, i don't think that I've "changed" lately. There are a few that I don't like, but so what. This thread isn't indicitive of me not liking Trey and thinking that he's a complete idiot(paraphrasing). If you guys want to make that leap, go for it, but don't think that I'm about to feel bad because you've created what you perceive to be my deep hatred of the guy.

Perhaps I should have made the 'cheap' comments about Faster to him via PM, but when I typed that, it wasn't with anger or disdain towards him (even though I know he perceives every bad comment as someone thinking he's a total piece of ****). Pointint out that he buys cheap and sells high is a reality. I know it's his livelyhood, and most would want that, but I pointed it out when I believed it to be a situation where he wanted things cheap from the people here, and then wanted to charge them virtually full price of whatever he was tryin to sell. I don't think that's out of line for me to make a point out of. We've been down the hyper-sensitive road with a few people here, and Faster just happens to be one that's decided to endure.

I'm callin things as I see them, and if you agree, fine. If you don't agree, that's fine too, but I think that it's ridiculous to just say that I've changed because I don't love everything that's going on around me. I'm not on a hunt, and I don't (IMO) pick fights just for the fun of it or whenever I'm bored.

Faster, you shouldn't say you're done with Russ when 2 posts later, you're responding to him.

You guys need to quit calling out for the Hall of Shame everytime a thread is along these lines. It's not a bad thing for people to vent, and if that's so intollerable to you guys, dont' participate in the threads to begin with.

C'mon guys. lets all agree to end this right now..

everyone makes valid points.. even Sid sometimes makes sense.

I guess we can all interput what was posted by brett as an attack. or just a harmless point to what some of us have been thinking.

We go round and round on how often and how many useless posts Sid posts. for the hell of it. He responds to most every thing whether he has experience with said speakers/gear or not.

I for one am all in favor of putting this thread to bed.. we could go on and on.. but what would we accomplish? Each and every thread gets more and more assnine and it's going to get ugly pretty soon. I still can't believe this hasn't made HOS yet.
