I thought you were on the list, or at least be one of the first 20+ in line to get one of these!!!

I realize I came too late to the table. What are the transformer specs other than 1000KVamps? Couldn't find this model on the Avel site.

See post #1 and post #53 of this thread for specs and measurements:

The AV-047548 is not on the Avel-Lindberg website because it was not a regular product offering. It was a custom design for an audio manufacturer.

Was there supposed to be a mounting bolt and nut with the package?

Thanks much for handling this Dave!!!

Just checking to see if anyone get a bolt and nut with their unit?

No. A mounting bolt and nut was not included with the two AV-047548's that I ordered previously nor with the two on this order.

Even if a mounting bolt and nut had been included, I would not have used it because I enlarged the 1/4" mounting hole and used a thicker 3/8" bolt since my transformer cases sit on their sides.

The size, weight and electrical measurements of the two recently received AV-047548 transformers are consistent with the first two I ordered.

Listening tests (sighted ) comparing the new AV-047548's to one of the previous AV-047548's will be done after 24 hours of burn in on the Cable Cooker.

Got both of mine today, very nice. Will be installing soon. Intersting that they are "made in Sri Lanka". Looking forward to Raife's listening tests and comparisons.

Installed mine in yesterday without the mounting hardware which I will pick up from the home depot later in the week. Slight improvement so far over the modified SDA cable I am using. It should get even better as I break it in further. Only got about an hour listening session in so far.

    The previous torroidial was phenomenal!!!

Then again, the movie I was watching did not have great sound - it was on DVD. It should get even better as I break it in further. Only got about an hour listening session in so far.

I finished one of my AI-1's late last night. I have been buring it in by running music since last night at low volume. I have not done a listening session yet however. I will tomorrow sometime. i am looking forward to the comparison to the 800VA AI-1 that I was using. I will probably need another 25 or more hours for full burn in even by tomorrow afternoon/evening. I will let people know how it sounds (comparitively) tomorrow and when it fully burns in. Some pictures are below. Thanks again Raife, Dave, and Larry for the help in accomplishing assembly of the AI-1 (extreme) 1000VA version.

Looks good Greg. That looks like the case that you had the 800VA transformer in, yes? If so, did you have to redrill the mounting hole?

No, this case is one of Larry's manufacturing. The other case is a glossy black and is bigger in size. I ordered it from a guy off the internet about 2 1/2 years ago (somewhere around that time). I am warming up the system now and am looking forward to the listening session.

If anyone is following this channel and wants in on another group buy of these AL 1000VA transformers, let me know here:

Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.
