Like I said, he didn't know what he had. I emailed him about the codes I could see in the photo, but couldn't quite make out what they were. He emailed me back f92 B8D. And said he was new to this and didn't know what the codes meant. He had a tube tester and they tested strong (85%). I figured for $59 I couldn't go wrong.
I jumped on the BIN right after that.

Ahhhhhh..........the long plate 1958 ECC83 Valvo labeled Mullards are simply sublime!!!
Holy Cow, these are worth every penny they sell for. Hard to describe, the depth and resolution and clarity is amazing, so easy going yet all the details surrounding every recording. Like watching a 3D movie in HD, for some sort of analogy.
My new favorite ECC83/12AX7................but they aren't cheap. I really stole these at $59/pr closely matched w/lots of life left.

Damn right you did! That's an awesome deal. I'm going to keep my eyes peeled for those. I've got some Valvo labeled Phillips 12AU7s and some Raytheon Black Plate 12AX7s coming in this week that I'm going to play with on my amp and pre. Not to hijack your thread H9 but I thought I would tell you about my current tube set-up which is sounding absolutely amazing.
Pre: Valvo Hamburg Slant D Getter 12AX7 in the input slot, with Sylvania TM BP 5751s in the left and right channel gain stages, and a GE 6X4 for the rectifier.
Amp: Amperex Grey Short Plate, halo getter 12AX7 as the rectifier tube, RCA Cleartop 12AU7s in the left and right channel slots, and Winged C El34s as the power tubes.
When I get the Raytheon 12AX7 BPs in, I want to try those in the rectifier position in the amp, and try the Phillips Herleen made Valvo's in the amp left and right gain stages. I tell you what though, it's going to be tough to be the combo I've got going right now! Hello my name is Steve and I'm addicted to tubes.............Lol.
