It's time for another Texas meet-up

It's been a year since the last one, so I figured we were about due for another. I was thinking the best time would be the weekend after LSAF (May 11 or 12), or two weeks after (May 18 or 19) so maybe we can get some hand-on time with some of the goodies sent out for LSAF before they have to be sent home.

Will any of you fine Texuns be driving to Polk Fest later this year? I'm looking for transportation for a pair of bookshelves with stands that currently reside in Katy...

Jim, as we discussed offline, let's make it happen like last year, extended demo time with the 705's (hopefully) - waiting on our fearless leader (kab) to give me final confirmation. That, and we can mix it up a bit too on the informal note, as if LSAF is formal to begin with.
You BETTER be there. I've got people in high places coming in for our little show!
Cheers,

I'm definitely intending on going to LSAF. I'll probably have to go on Sunday.
Do you still have that 40w tube amp? I scored some LS90s from Skip and I'm dying to hear them on a good amp/source.- Computer Rig -

Guys,
I will not miss this either. I have an eye treat to bring. Not saying what yet, but I believe two people here already know. Anyhow, please do not make it the weekend of the 12, make it the one after. Jim, I could make it to your place any weekend, regardless. But the meet with everyone else would be tough, as my bro grads from Medical school that very 12 weekend.

DSkip,

19th works for me.

The more the merrier. Jim's place can definitely support a crowd. Jim, as the date gets closer, let me know what kind of help you need. If the 3000's are completely restored by then, I'll bring them to the gathering and see what they can do in a nice open area.
I'm hoping those 3000s are ready. I wanna hear them sing out in my living room. I think this year's meet should bring some interesting speakers to light.
I don't think it will take much to get this meet going, since I've already got one under my belt, but if I need a hand I'll let you know.- Computer Rig -

LOL! Way to go Jim! They also sound really nice with a 200w Sunfire amp. Or my favorite, a b&k. -
So how does this work? I went to the LSAF last year but have never done a personal meet-up before.
-
Speaking of amps, does anyone have a beefy amp I could borrow for a short period of time? PM me if you think you can help me out.
Ben, we all gather at someone's house with all sorts of gear and hang out and swap in/out different amps and speakers, along with all sorts of music from a variety of sources (CD, vinyl, DAC, computer, etc.). Food is provided in one manner or another, whether it's catered, brought by attendees, or made in-house. My house has a pool, so you're welcome to bring a swimsuit and kick it in the pool if you'd like. Some of th guys bring a bottle (or two... or three ) of their spirit(s) of choice, and sip it down whilst relaxing and listening to music or movies. I will throw out that my LSi HT has been dismantled, and my Kenwood X1 HT lost it's preamp, so I won't have much to offer in that area this year. Nonetheless, it's sure to be a good time had by all. I hope you can make it out!- Computer Rig -

Cool cool. I'll definitely try to make it. I would definitely like to hear some different gear and just talk shop with some other enthusiasts. Might see some of you guys at the LSAF as well as it sounds like some of you guys are headed there too.

This is awesome! I didn't even know about the LSAF or any Texas meet-ups! This is going to be awesome!

I can't vouch for the jobs, but I think it's safe to say I've gone hunting once or twice. You wouldn't know it by looking in my house or anything though...- Computer Rig -

Is it going to be the weekend of the 19th?
-
Jim, a couple questions that may help a couple of the newer guys (and me since I didn't make it out there last year):
We/re on for the 19th, correct, what time do you like people to start showing up?
Do you want us to bring food, or you taking care of that beforehand and we pitch in money?
I'm not sure if you're keeping a headcount, but I'm in for 2 people.
